7/28/12 UPDATE

Woods: Unchanged- I am eagerly waiting the 913's at that time I will test pretty much everything that's out and compare it to my 910 before making any changes. My only gripe with the 910D is that I have to use a really low launch shaft and set the head as low it will go to achieve my desired flight. Plus I tend to miss on the heel and the 910 loses a fair amount of ball speed on heel misses. No doubt that it looks/feels superb, long when nutted and is straight.

Superfast 2.0V2 VTS SPX Silver 7SX I received from Will Peoples. I think the Superfast 2.0 is one of the top 3 driver heads ever as far as performance alone. To be honest I hate the white heads. I will probably have it murdered and re-shafted. The Silver launches a tad too high for me and is hard to keep the flight low. I absolutely love the head and it might be my gamer next year. I will never get rid of this club.

I don't think I will be replacing the 910FD unless I test something that is truly special.

The A12 combo is the best hybrid combo I have ever player (Thanks RackMB'&TP's.).

Irons: Sad to say but the CB712’s set a record low for time in the bag for me. A few key reasons of why they didn’t work.
· Way too light
· Spiny
· Coming from a premium forged iron and moving to Titleist the feel just didn’t measure up.

The Miuras are firmly planted, I don’t plan on ever changing until I have the opportunity to make a trip to Scratch headquarters and get custom fit. Then I will have a custom set built to replace the Miuras.

Miura Thread & Pictures: http://www.golfwrx.c...94#entry5192094

Wedges: Unchanged- I was fit at TPI Carlsbad for these wedges. Anyone in SoCal in the market for new wedges, I highly recommend spending the $150 to get fit at TPI. It’s one of those things that you only have to do once, if you don’t change your swing. You will learn a lot about what you like and need in a wedge as far as gaps, grind and bounce. The experience alone is worth $150, never mind that you are getting fit by the same guys that fit the entire Titleist staff.

Wedge Thread & Pictures: http://www.golfwrx.c...vdsstampedsnow/

Putter: All other putters were out once I got my hands on the GoLo, I ended up customizing it and I like it even more.

Putter Thread & Pictures: http://www.golfwrx.c...64#entry5264764

Bag: I went from Pings my entire life to the Titliest Lightweight. There really is no comparison, Ping bags are simply the best IMO. The Titleist/ SM bags are very round and the fabric is thin. I like the more oval shape of the Ping that hugs your body better and almost attaches to your back. Plus they seem to be better quality. My favorite OTR Scotty on this site for sure! Makes me wish I was a Scotty guy because there is so much DIY customizations one can do on them as opposed to Odysseys!

The scratch irons are never leaving my bag! They are still as awesome as when I got them! Thanks again!

Glad that I could help you, you deserve it!!!

Update:

Painted my 2.0 Black and replaced the VTS with a Tour Spec Speeder 6.2X. [s]This might be the longest driver[/s] This is the longest driver driver that I have ever hit when flushed. The head looks 10x better in black IMO. I am going to have my guy clean up the edges where the masking was removed but I think it looks really good. I also had mine bent to 7°. I think I'm going to add hot melt to get the SW back to D4.

Anxiously waiting to see if the 913D3 can out perform this BEAT STICK. I can take better photos later if anyone is interested.

How'd you like the Fuel Tour Spec vs the Speeder TS?
Both are similar but different. I did some quality testing outdoors on Trackman going back and forth between D2/D3 Speeder/Fuel combos. Speeder is a true low/low, flatter ball flight, harder to miss left, misses spin less and takes a little more work to swing. Fuel has a similar butt section and softer tip so it feels more lively/smoother, easier to load and gets up faster.

The Fuel is designed to fit right between the 6.2 Speeder TS and 6.3 Speeder TS in regards to launch and spin. It really reminds me of a Graphite Design BB.

In a nutshell the Fuel launches about 2* higher and spins about 300-400RPMs more. The Fuel in the 8.5 D2 is not a good combo for me, I would need a 7.5 D2 to pay the Fuel in that head. Launches to high and spins too much or miss hits. Fuel in the D3 is a beast as I have hit my longest drives with this combo. The Speeder in either head is a very stable, flat, consistent combo.

Right now the D3 Speeder is winning, one of the main reasons is that I can play this combo at (B1) 8.5*. All the other combos I get the best ball flight (C1) 7.75*. I like the benfit and look the club has with that extra little bit of loft. Hope that helps...

Jealous of the TS 8.2 combo, another cool example of a "tour only" shaft made available to the consumer.
Cool story about the 8.2. When I went through my fitting, I was hitting the 7.2 really good and already saw better numbers that my current 910. Dino wanted me to try the 8.2 just for the hell of it. My SS actually increased over the lighter 7.2, spin stayed about the same, launch angle went up and the ball went further. I was shocked to see the increase in ball and SS over the 7.2. I thought maybe I was just swinging it better, so I went back to the 7.2 and sure enough the numbers went down. After I hit a few other setups I then asked to revisit it one last time because I still wasn't convinced and again I had better numbers with the 8.2. I don't swing that fast (about 108-112) with driver but my transition is fairly aggressive, so I think the 8.2 just helps me maintain my angles better on the down swing.

I expected to see similar benefits from my driver shafts. Strangely enough my numbers were about the same between the 6.2 and 7.2 but the 7.2 just felt heavier. Had I not gotten properly fit, I probably never would have known this and had bought gear that was not ideal for me.

Dang didn't realize you were playing Miura. What is the feel like compared to Scratch? Sick Titleist bag BTW.
Hit the Miuras off center and you know it instantly. I don't think they feel insanely good on pured shots like their reputation claims. They feel really good, just like any quality forging.

Miura's are a lot more club in terms of forgiveness. Best thing about the Miuras is they SW really heavy without adding weight to the heel and they have squared toes which sets up better.

Love the new woods. The Miura's are pretty sweet too! Good luck with the season! We still have about 16 inches of snow that needs to clear out
