I'm not a Titleist basher but I think the 585 is the most overrated club in recent memory. Has no feel and mediocre performance. The new Baffler's on the other hand are awesome. Both models are great but the Pro hits it dead straight. Right there with the Adams Idea Pro's as the best hybrids out right now.

Couldn't agree more. The 585h just feels too weak when you hit it in the sweetspot. I also have to say that the overhype really came from this website, not much in the way of Titleist.

I have to agree with Konk. I tried my friends 585 a few times and just could never get decent results. I also think its bad that at $200 the only shaft worth getting is an NV....while the baffler pro offers a speeder at 20 dollars cheaper. That being said, I think the baffler pro is the best hybrid on the market. I tried the baffler vs Adams pro and overall in the end I went with the Baffler. Cobra has a real winner on their hands here!

I agree with the guys above concerning the 585. I am in the same position in looking for a new hybrid for Christmas. I tried the 585, hoping it would be a magic club, like everyone says. I was very disappointed. It felt dull and unresponsive. I don't know much about the Cobras, but I would also recommend the Nickent 3dx and the Taylormade rescue Dual (I think I'm getting the Dual for X-Mas). But whatever you decide, make sure you try everything first to see what you like best. Its all personal preference. Good luck.

I didn't try the 585... seemed to be waaaay too much club for my game... I wanted to love the Baffler Pro and DWS, but when I set them down behind the ball, the bulge and roll, looked, well, just too funky... I went with the Nickent 3DX ironwood...

I love last years baffler. Was excited about the 585. The looks of the 585 were dissapointing a adress though. Pretty good club-not as good as expected. The new Baffler Pro was another story. Looks at adress were ideal. Played a little more neutral that the old baffler. I found that it went just as high as the old baffler even though it has no offset.

I looked at the PRO & DWS and I absolutely hated that superpolished look of the leading edge of the crown at address. Did not promote any confidence what so ever. The 585H on the other. Loved the way the ball set up at address, love the ball flight, love the sound and it was just what I needed.

Well I have hit all the bafflers as well as the 585 with many different shafts. To be honest I hit them all very well. The only one I didnt hit too well was a 585 with a NV because I know I cant hit that shaft so its definately not the club. I think they each have their pluses and minuses (looks/feel/ect...) but I still always go back to my baffler. My 20* with prolaunch hybrid shaft is by far the easiest club I have hit reguardless of lie. I cant work the ball that much (I have to take it pretty far outside for a small fade or far inside for a little draw) but for the most part it goes VERY straight. Straight usually works just fine for me and at 220-225 off the deck and 235 off the tee straight everytime is something I can handle. Try both with as many shaft combo's as possible to really see which one you like. Also dont limit yourself to either titleist or cobra, make sure you get the club that works best for the spot you are trying to fill! Good luck!

Of the two that you mentioned, I prefer the Baffler. The Titleist just didn't feel right to me, and the ball flight that i got from it was too low for my needs with a hybrid club. I have not tried the Baffler pro model, but the dws works very well for my swing, with a nice high ball flight, and great carry distance. You really should try and hit both though if you can, as this seems to be a very divided group as to what is the better of the three clubs.

I originally planned to purchase the Adams Pro but they didn't have a 18* at the moment......In true ho fashion I grabbed the 585H after a few shots on the Sim.....I agree that that the feel of the 585H isn't too lively, definitely not the "pop" I seem to get off my Nickent 23*...In the 2 months that I've had the club I've hemmed and hawed about trading it in on the Adams but can't seem to pull the trigger as I just seem to hit good shots with it. It is quickly becoming a "money" club...It can be hit high or low, and is very easy to work....I'm still wanting to try the Adams but the results are keeping the 585 in the bag. I've only got another month to trade it back so we'll see what happens but for now its not going anywhere.....
