GolfNow.com...

It's been a while since I used GolfNow to book tee times. The birth of two kids will cramp anyone's style. This summer I've been able to play a little more, and started using GolfNow. Our local courses are now listed, and I've been able to get some really great deals. I got a time at a decent course tomorrow for $10.53 per player, including fees. Normal 18 hole charge for this course during the week is $39.00. Anyone else feel like this is stealing? LOL...

I love using golfnow. There's a course in Dallas (Golf Club of Dallas, formerly Oak Cliff Country Club) that used to host a tour stop that can be had at a few times per day for $15-25. It's surrounding neighborhood has gone way downhill and the course had to turn semi-private (from private) but their membership is great and it's really fun to play an Perry/Press Maxwell design. The tight fairways, substantial (for Texas) rough and small greens offers a significantly different challenge than the suburb courses of the last 20 years that are wrapped around homes and feature a lot of tricked up golf shots.

I do like Golfnow's new rewards program. Book 10 tee times (booking a foursome counts as 4 credits not 1) and then they waive your booking fee for the year.

Depending on where you live try EZLinks.com . I find that some courses near me just post the reg rates. If you dont do your research you don't save. I play two really good courses about 20 mins away for $20 w/ cart or $28 w/ cart. Tee time are at 10:10am sat. This summer while on vacay I play a $78.00 course @ 12/45 for $26. Hope you keep on getting good deals. Good luck!

It's really not like stealing, no more than Groupon!

Given the number of tee times on any course in a day, having a couple heavily discounted rates shouldn't hurt too much.

Found out about Golfnow and Ezlinks early this year and have booked probably around 95% of my rounds on those sites! On Golfnow though, do a bit of research and sort by savings or price as some tee times listed are full price. The "hot deals" are usually the best value. $20 for a course that charges $60? Yes please!

I used to be a club pro.....youll find better deals on ezlinks typically but the course has to be using their software for tee sheets. Essentially, you get to use their software but you have an agreement to give them a couple tee times each day. If the course is smart, they will not allow them to advertise at a lower rate than the clubs rate but they can sell it for whatever they want. Downside is that the course makes $0 and you are out of luck if you try to cancel or move it.
Golf now is similar but the course gets revenue. The course just has better web presence being listed on there. Youll never know when the deals are coming cuz we just look for slow days/times and list em.

Very much! I just started using golfnow this year and always check out their "hot" tee times for some amazing deals. After qualifying for their frequent golfer program, it's even cheaper. Great site!

I also use Golfnow and it HAS saved me some bones. But just recently I've begun to notice that I do better just going to the specific club pages... Maybe its just a quirk?

I've booked close to 30 rounds using GN and cannot be more pleased. Nearly 15 of them are on a wonderful course that charges $115 normally - on GN never paid more than $75. Played wonderful courses for $21 in Chicagoland. Def worth it if you are flexible.

Does anyone know how many rounds are needed to get more benefits besides the free transaction fees?

Pricing on GolfNow rates should always be verified by calling the course. Bayonet/BlackHorse is $35 after 4pm, GolfNow routinely advertises it at $60 for the same time at a savings of over 50%. Flat out false advertising.

Besides the one or two times the course gives to golfnow (the cost of using golfnow to the courses if you have to let them sell 1 or 2 tee times, these are the one's where all the $ is due online, not at the course), all the prices are set but the course. In this case, it could be that Poppy is looking to make and extra few bucks, or that they were too lazy to change their pricing. I could see either happening with Poppy (love playing there, but that's the NCGA's money maker you're talking about).

I have found that the discounts certainly get less and less as you get closer to twighlight. In many cases, it's the same price but I use it to reserve the time instead of just showing up and hoping they have room.

EDIT: I guess I was distraccted by your screen-name and was thinking Poppy. Same reasoning would apply to B & B though.
