Great pictures on this thread! Rickie seems to be doing well really with the Versa #7. I mainly use the Ping Nome myself, but I also have two versions of the #7: the Black Series with the firmer insert and the larger White Ice with a similar firm insert. For me, the White Hot inserts have been too soft, but I haven't tried the new insert in the Versa. It's supposed to be soft but very "consistent" across the face. I like the #7 versions with the larger heads, so I may even check out the #7 Tank.

The pictures in post #1 were detailed enough that I could see how Rickie is using a traditional putter grip on long putts and a left-hand-low grip on medium to short-range putts. This is exactly what I started doing late last season. It takes some getting used to, but it seem to take the wrist out of short putts while maintaining chipping "feel" for long putts. My biggest problem with the soft Odyssey inserts has been that I really have to slam the longer putts to get them to the hole. My distance control on longer putts has been better with the Nome, which is why it's in the bag.

Van wasn't "closed for the day", the van left the golf course on Wednesday afternoon just like every other OEM's equipment truck is required to do each week.

2. The 8802 style is just a BAD design in terms of consistency. No one uses it today for a reason. If they do it never last's that long.

Insert is identical, just different paint

90 version is the same, just different color configuration and sight lines are added to the "fangs"

Chad's been mentioning a few things on Twitter which make this sound like it could be a possibility. I think Lance (ladahl) photoshopped a picture for Rickie and made a B/O/B (hahaha, BOB) #7. Chad replied and said something like "we may or may not be working on something cool" in direct response. I don't know if you'll get a chance to pick out sight lines and such (or headweights) but it sounds like there may be something like a uDesign coming for the Versa putters.

I played four rounds in Myrtle Beach the past few days, and I got a chance to really roll the #7 and the #1W. As you stated, they're both great putters. I was using both of them for the first round, just to get a handle on which I felt more comfortable with. I ended up going with the #7 for the remainder of trip. I think the biggest reason, for me, is the sightline. I've been using a putter with a sightline for as long as I can remember, and since I put a line on my ball and use that, it's just too different for me to do anything else. It'll take some time to get used to, but for now, the #7 is staying in the bag. I putted great with it this weekend. So stable the whole way through the stroke. Distance control was solid and I felt like I could give those mid range putts a good run and always have them come out on the intended line (whether it was the right line is another story!!)

I'm going to keep the #1W for the days where I want a bit of a change, but I may put my own sightline on there and see how she fares.
