Score wise, I've had good results from the ZStar (especially in the wind), but still am not quite sold on the feel/sound off the putter.
[/quote]
Off the putter, I think the ZStar XV and ProV1X are the same, awful.

I hit a few identical irons with each in strong crosswinds last night. I could see the ProV1X wobbling in the wind. The ZStar XV seemed to cut right through it. It is one of the better wind balls I've ever tried. I still need to get more comfortable with it off the tee and around the greens.

Good looking out, CSchnee. I just picked up a dozen B330, Lethal, and 20XI-X to add to my testing. Only cost me $35.

QMany, you have an awesome swing! I was perusing your videos and you said you have a problem with a pull. I think a macro swing thought that may help (make sure it doesn't screw anything else up) is swinging the club on your takeaway. I think you've grooved your changes now to the point where you can 'let it rip' a bit more. If you swing the club away you may get the shaft pointed a little more DTL the at the top which may help promote a slightly more in to out strike.

Not technical advice at all (and I'm a technical guy) but I bet it will help you.

Uneven lies are still giving me fits.

Hole #1, I always get a lie with the ball below my feet. For some reason, I have a tendency to "fake" my turn. From there, I have a hard time getting things right and often hit thin weak fades. I went out and practiced concentrating on pulling the R foot back a little and completing my turn. "I think I got it figured out." Said every golfer at some time.

Hole #4, there is OB left so I always tend to flail out to the R and find myself on a severe uphill lie. I'm talking severe. Seems like I catch it think every time.

I can't imagine playing Olympic with lies like that in every fairway. I'd go insane.

y0 Q? What distances you got into the green from those uneven lies?

If they are under 150 i'd recommend hitting flighted irons...especially if they are into the fan.

Both of those tee shots usually play into the wind and leave long approaches. Last night, on #1 (ball below feet), I had 167 uphill into the wind. On number #4 (severely above feet), I had 193 downhill with wind into and from the R.

When it is cool and windy, my course plays quite long. On the par fours and par threes, with normal drives, I would hit 6i, PW, 5i, SW, 4i, 6i, 5i, 5i, GW, 6i, 4i, 6i, GW, and 5i. Maybe that is normal, that feels like a lot of long irons to me.

Thanks, buddy. It has been a grind. I was making steady improvement with lv_2_hack and iTeach. The worst thing that ever happened to me was entering in my first state Am tournament. I was hooked. I've been more driven and able to focus my practice on some of my weaknesses that showed in competition.

You're going to love the Chrome. I was fit for it yesterday at UST with Bobby Ennis. Awesome guy to work with and extremely passionate. It was between the Attas GoGo and the Chrome. Very similar numbers but the Chrome won out on dispersion.

It's certainly not a short course, hitting those irons in. That would make most par 4's over 400 and the odd one or two less than.

Btw, I played a course many years ago (it was Mark Roe's home course in Sheffield, Lees Hall) and it was pretty short but my god it was severely sloping. It was difficult to keep a ball on the fairway despite landing it in the rough on the high side! Then trying to control a shot to a smallish green was nearly impossible. I very rarely played well on it.

Mark Roe had the course record, 63! 9 under.

Looking forward to getting the Chrome within the next two weeks. I'm going to try a VS Proto 70 X in the driver, too. A little shootout. Also, I should be picking up a set of Taylormade TP irons and wedges between now and mid-April.

After that, the bag is set for the year. No tinkering, just posting low tournament scores and taking people's money.

I use one in the UK called 'lakeballs.com' and the condition is terrific. I wouldn't think about buying them new now. I put some beside a sleeve of brand new ones (Bridgestone E5's) and you can't tell them apart. They cost less than half price of the brand new ones.
