Hey that's alright! Still a great round. Maybe try not to tally up your score until the end next time. Sounds like you might have psyched yourself out a bit. +1 though, good stuff. Another putt here or there, a closer approach. Definitely within striking distance.

I four putted the 17th for double and put one in the pond on 18 for double one time to shoot a smooth 74 on a course I had never parred before. Like CSchnee said, try not to add 'em up before hand. Happens to me as well.

I can't [i]not[/i] add them up. I'll always know what I'm sitting at in the back of my head. I knew going into 15 or so and played some quality golf coming in. 18 was playing 440 dead nuts into the (20 mph) wind. I hit a good drive just off the tight fairway. I had a funky lie with ball slightly above my feet. I just didn't complete my turn and my shoulders just stalled coming down and there went the arms. One bad shot coming in. Live and your learn. Get um next time!

Good news, the course I played is where the state MidAm and my Am qualifier will be. If I drive the ball halfway decent, I can put up a good number.

I can't tell you how many times at my old course that had OB left on 18 I had good rounds going to only fire one into the driving range across the road and OB off of the 18 tee.

I usually know where I stand too, although sometimes I can forget, but either way the best thing I have found to work is to always ask myself, "What is my target" before every swing. That pretty much starts my preshot routine and gets my mind on the present instead of the future score.

The drive was the toughest part of the hole, too. I just made a lazy swing with the 4i.

Can't wait to be in the position again.

Feeling really good about the state events at that course. I left 2-3 shots out there.

The local muni in NJsays Mid-March for opening day. The problem is they're calling for significant snow next week... My home course in NYdoesn't open until May 1st. Glad you guys can get out even for a day.

I try not to keep score, usually let someone else do it. This way I don't focus on score. It is pretty easy to count up at the end.

One of my first times to shoot par, I was 2 under (I think, maybe 3) on 14th green standing over a birdie putt. I pulled back the putter and a guy cranked up a chain saw in the yard near the green. Three putted the hole and ended up shooting even.

If I competed in long drive, I'd make every effort to be totally silent, even on a great ball. I think it would freak out my competitors. Like a stealth bomber [size=4] [/size]

Me too ... until my back audibly snapped in half.

It is amazing to see them catch one. After one or two, the nostalgia wears off and I'm annoyed by the antics.

I haven't had the opportunity to try the new TP line. After hearing rave reviews, I look forward to testing them both.

Over the past week, I played the old Penta TP, new ProV1X, and the old ZStar XV. Subtle but definite differences between the three. I'm looking forward to warmer (normal) weather to determine what will be best for me for the rest of the season. As of right now, I'm leaning towards the ZStar XV.

Why do you prefer the B-330?

It is almost exactly like the ProV1x, but sounds better off of the putter, sounds softer. It spins as well, flies as long and maybe better in the wind. It is nearly identical to the ProV1x but better off of the putter and cheaper per dozen.

That is a pretty good review. Basically, you mentioned my two qualms with the ProV1X. It sounds awful off the putter and I think there are better balls in the wind, particularly crosswinds.

I might have to give it a try. I'm not really ball loyal. I'll try anything and everything. However, I would like to get something constant in the bag leading up to my events in May-July.

I did the Bridgestone fitting and they gave me two B-330s. I took them to the practice green and tried to not see if I were hitting a Prov1x or the B330s. I thought they felt exactly the same from 60 yards and in, spun the same, everything the same, and then came the putter. As soon as I hit one putt I knew it was better feeling and sounding off of the putter. I switched after that. I have just noticed it is a little better wind ball too after playing them for six months.

I'm very interested in how the TP test out for you.

Score wise, I've had good results from the ZStar (especially in the wind), but still am not quite sold on the feel/sound off the putter.
