Months and months of drills and frustration.
I used to look like Rickie Folwer's old swing. I would send lv_2_hack tons of videos and he'd help me with drills.

This is 18 months ago trying to get rid of the horrible takeaway.

How has the ballflight changed?

Old: 5–10 yard draw with a 20-30 yard hook waiting to happen. New: straight or 5 yard online fade, miss is just a tiny tug.

Misses with the driver are a little worse, naturally. I really need to work on the driver. Normal ball flight is a low online-draw or slight pull draw. With the longer clubs, it is harder to get my arms back in front of me. Once the weather warms and I get more time to practice with the longer clubs, I think I will be very comfortable with this move.

Just found out I won the True Temper giveaway. I got a message from the guys here at GolfWRX. I need to decide what shaft would be best for me. I haven't played True Temper since I picked up golf 4 years ago. I'm excited to figure out what to try and give them a shot head-to-head against my KBS Tour.

Wow way cool. The PX are great shafts, check out some of the 7A4's, 7A3, hard to find shafts that are $275 etc. HB6 is an awesome hybrid shaft, not as expensive as the PX graphites though.

I'm considering getting into tourneys in IL this year, never played competitive golf, first picked it up in college about 5 years ago. I wouldn't even know where to start, the thought of it terrifies me. I feel like I'm [size=4]guaranteed to muck up some obscure rule and totally humiliate myself! Good for you for getting after it.[/size]

How do you like that new shaft in the A12, after some time with it? I absolutely love my A12 with the RIP, past two seasons I played with just it and a driver - might try that again this season and drop my 3w. Been swapping shafts around lately and am wondering if Darth Vader might need a new lightsaber. (Of course these things are going for <$50 on ebay nowadays, could always get a new one to play around with).

Just do it! It is a different animal. I picked up the game in law school 4 years ago. The best decision I've made is to start playing amateur events. Fills that competitive void and gives me something to strive and train for.

The Thump is a great shaft. I need sometime with it on the course, but it has been great on the range. It is just so smooth. I don't like really boardy harsh shafts (actively trying to find something to replace HM3). It is really stout. It is not going left!

If I can ask (and not threadjack), how did you get started? Where'd you begin, what was your experience? How did you do? I'm like you, working a desk job makes me yearn for competition again. Basketball is out with somewhat balky knees, and beach volleyball tourneys are few and far between.

I think one thing I'm afraid of is joining the tournament and being totally not competitive. I've only ever broken 80 a handful of times, and while this year looks promising, I don't think it'd be enjoyable to be ten strokes off the next closest player.

I take it that you got the club with that shaft already in it? No experience with anything else?

I had an A12 Pro with the Altus. I don't know what it was, but I just didn't get along with the feel of that shaft. It wasn't boardy, but it wasn't smooth. The A12 Pro is a great head. I think it is one of the best hybrids ever.

Q the swing looks great. I really like how good the video is on your iphone. Is the video just as good inside? I have the iphone 5 and still get shaft blur inside.

The new iPhone 5S video is amazing. I was in the market for a slow-motion camera but also had was eligible for my cell phone upgrade. I gave it a shot, and I am glad I did. The more light there is, the better the picture quality will be. However, I have never had a problem indoors, outdoors in covered bays, or outdoors in the sun. The best part is how easy it is to send slow-motion videos through iMessage. I don't have to mess with second-party apps, and I can send them to Dan to look at in slow-motion.
