I've got quite a large melon too. What's nice about them is even though they're a "flat bill" they are nicely proportioned to my head. Just looks like a really nice fitting hat.

What kind of question is that, I played 7 holes this evening.

I've got 3-4 rounds in this year. Not striking it too bad for January.

I decided to pull a wedge and try to find something to fit between my 4i (210-15) and my hybrid (240-45). My Stage 2 hybrid is too long, it made a large gap at the top end of the bag. Thanks to Tembolo, I have something to add to my quiver to try. Enter the Adams A12 Pro w/ Diamana Thump X. I'm hoping find it fill that gap right around 225-30.

 

 

I used to have this head, but it had the stock stiff shaft in there that I couldn't get along with. I can't wait to give it a run, I just have to wait until this damn snow subsides. I might even keep the dead cow grips on there, crazy tacky!

I was able to test a couple of clubs and shafts with the Wizard this trip. I am going to go with the Adams DHy 18* with the White Tie over the Anser 17*. The Dhy had lower spin, 2700-3200 vs the Anser at 3700-4000 so it was carrying slightly less, around 230 but rolling out 10-20 yards which is what I wanted. Adams hybrids are hard to beat.

Adams hybrids are hard to beat, I completely agree. I've had past success with A7 and A12 Pro. I was looking at the 21* DHy to serve as a 3i replacement. If this A12 Pro doesn't fit the bill, I will probably give the DHy a run.

I think am going to see I rarely will hit my 3W, to be honest. With the Stage 2 cranked a little lower, I think I will be able to hit it 245-50 off the tee.

i rarely hit my 3 wood so I ditched it. To me, the DHy looks a little more intimidating than a normal hybrid, but I was shocked at how easy it is to hit. I want something to hit off of the tee that will run a little so this is going to serve the purpose better than my other hybrids that spin more and stop faster when they land. The DHy might not be that great into a par 5 but if I am outside of 240 I don't care to hit a 3 iron 220 up around the front of the green. I can't control how far I fly the ball outside of 220 anyway at that point so I am just happy being around the green.

Thanks, scratch. I never played competitive golf growing up. Hell, I didn't play golf until 4 years ago. Being away from college basketball, I need something to get the competitive juices flowing. In my first event, I qualified for the Missouri Amateur. Now, I'm hooked.

I've been contemplating trying for the IL mid-am this year myself funny you posted that. In reality I feel like I'm probably a year plus out on that though. Your thread has inspired me though Matt, thinking I'm going to start one myself in the next month or so once a bit of the snow gets off the ground.

I am planning on playing in the Ohio and Kentucky Ams and the Ohio Mid Am. Might try the US Am qualifier if I am hitting it well. This year the stars have seemed to align, the Ohio qualifier is on a course that I qualified for before for the first time since then, and the Kentucky qualifier is on my home course, so no excuses there. Hopefully I can keep the wheels on both places.

Got through most of Joey D's [i]Fix Your Body, Fix Your Swing[/i]. It is a quick read, but it has some great material.

I have lifted regularly for the past 8-9 years, but I have always had mobility/flexibility issues. It has a series of assessments that are easy to do. Then, based on these findings, he has 3-4 exercises for each body part that didn't pass the assessment. It doesn't overwhelm you with too much stuff. Instead, it is giving me 3-4 quick workouts for each weak part of my body that I can add to my regular gym routine.

I highly recommend it.

I might check this out. I've been working out consistently, lifting and cardio about 4 or 5 times a week. It's definitely not tailored to my golf game though. I think it could be a good addition.

I have never really thought about changing from the Devotion ... until now. I have been thinking about going a little heavier in all woods/hybrids. Instead of 60/70/90, something like 70/80/90/100. To answer you question, I have never thought about the Devotion in FW. I would like a little more spin/launch than the Devotion affords.
