I would choose to make a M8 fixer similiar to the wonderful garageputters Dave or Chris posted a long while ago .
I would try to make it as simple as possible to keep it 8802 style but maybe use some filework just to make the damascuspattern pop even more.
I would also let Dave acidetch it and just oil it like on the awesome putter on the last pics in this thread.
Maybe some custom stamping on the sole as I think it enhances the old school look that I am after.
I sightdot would also look nice, in this case I would like to have a small drilled hole with a silvery dot, not just paint more like an insert, preferably with a convex top.
I would let Dave flametorch the bottom of the shaft if I don't select a black "Regripit" shaft. and add a "Gripmaster " white cabretta leathergrip.
Almost forgot.......some sort of fine milling on the face as I think it suites this look the best.

This customizing is so much fun, I have changed my mind or added things several times wich made me edit my post 4 times already.

Whoever wins this putterdesignquest will recieve a truly amazing work I am sure.

I would love an M4 Meritage with the Half-moon type flange (Pictures 5 & 6 are EXACTLY what I mean) in 34.5" with VMG Milling. Same finish and nice clean look. Double bend shaft to make it face balanced.
