Before anyone ever cared where I would play basketball, I was a kid from Northeast Ohio. It’s where I walked. It’s where I ran. It’s where I cried. It’s where I bled. It holds a special place in my heart. People there have seen me grow up. I sometimes feel like I’m their son. Their passion can be overwhelming. But it drives me. I want to give them hope when I can. I want to inspire them when I can. My relationship with Northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball. I didn’t realize that four years ago. I do now.
Definitely changed my view of the guy for the better. I think this will be good for the game in general. I know that I was tired of seeing Miami of all teams dominate the EC these past four years.

I just read that the Cavs offered the Twolves Waiters, Bennett and a first round pick. Don't know if I would do that or just trade Wiggins.
Bennet is a bust ... Waiters doesn't get along with Irving ... first round pick could be low, depending on whose it is. I'd rather keep Wiggins.

Starting line up could be:
Irving - Wiggins - James - Thompson - Love

Best starting 5 in the east.

Irons: Titleist 718 AP1, 5-GW, 24°-48°

Don't think there's a chance the Wolves bite on anything not including Wiggins.

I have no clue why you guys think that's enough to get Love. Never going to happen in a million years, and the picks that Cleveland have to offer are ridiculously protected. Their #1 from Miami is top 10 protected until 2017, and the Memphis pick is heavily protected as well. Nothing is getting done without Wiggins.

Maybe because Love will walk in a year. Regardless, I wouldn't give up Wiggins for Love.

Jeremy Lin and a 1st to the Lakers so that the Rockets can sign Bosh. I think all the Lakers are giving up is cash.

If this is for any reason other than bringing Carmelo aboard, I hate the move.

I think it has been pretty well documented by now that Love is going to sign a long term deal in Cleveland since LeBron is there.

13/6 @ 8 mil a year, and he comes off the books after next season. Now that Bron's gone (he was never coming), I like it regardless of signing/not signing Melo. But I'm not sure I do the rumored Pau/Boozer trade.

Edit, Lin's making 15 this year, but only 8 will count against the Lakers cap. The Lakers turned a 100 mil profit last year (bad as they were), so I'm not worrying about this like it's my money.

So we basically decide that this season is already over, while simultaneously making a team in the west significantly better. And all we get is an expiring contract and what I'm assuming is a crappy first rounder (I guess we'll have to see on that part though).

I wouldn't give up wiggins to get love..package whoever you need and as many pics as it takes but don't give up wiggins.

The problem with Cavs' picks is they won't be lottery picks now that Bron's back. I'm with you--I don't do that trade if I'm the Cavs. Irving and Wiggins are untouchable.

But who else is out there this year besides Melo? Would Parsons make us better than Lin? Stephenson?

Now that Lebron's out of the question, yeah, we're pretty much toast this year, unless we manage to grab Melo and hang on to Pau.

Lin
Kobe

Melo
Pau
is a nice, if aging, core.

They need to be younger not older.
Trading wiggins for love and giving him max $ put them in the same position Miami is in right now in a few years.
Love is good now but who knows in a few years ..I see a bosh 2.0
Plus lebron said he's committed to "building" and they their success isn't going to be immediate.
If love wants to come to Cleveland and sign long term, he will do it regardless.

Look what happens to the trigger happy Knicks when they blew their load to get melo
He was gonna be in ny anyway

Love is 25 and a guaranteed 20-10 guy for the next 5 years, plus one of the best passing big men in the league. Wiggins is a rookie unknown. Cavs would love to have them both, but they'd take Love over Wiggins 7 days a week.

I disagree..

Wiggins was the #1 overall pick from possibly the best draft class since LeBron's class (only time will tell, obviously).

He has the potential to be one of the best 2 way players in the league. The Cavs will have plenty of offense without Love on the team.. And they'll have the opportunity to sign him next season for nothing if they wait. The Carmelo trade to NYK should serve as a lesson learned here.

Kevin Love was 3rd in league in Win Shares last season. With him, the Cavs are the favorites in the East and have a chance at winning the title.

I don't think the Cavs are willing to waste a year of LeBron's career. Without Love, this team has zero shot at the title. With Love, the Cavs are in the top 5 in the NBA and could give the Spurs/OKC/Clippers a run in the finals.

I get what you're saying, I do, I just have a hard time giving up Wiggins when you could almost certainly get Love in a year for nothing.

It's a tough call.. What if Wiggins comes in this year and averages 17-7-5 or something like that and plays extremely good defense? He's not putting up Love numbers, but it's his rookie season too and the sky is the limit.

And like you said, there is still the possibility he could flop as well. I wouldn't want to be calling the shot..

The only thing about waiting a year is - what if the TWolves make the playoffs this year and Love decides he wants to be the man instead of second fiddle?

And Wiggins flops.

Of course, if Wiggins puts up 17-7-5 as a rook and can actually shoot the ball, who needs Love?

Ideally, the Cavs find a way to keep Wiggins and add Love.
