Chamblee/Tiger Woods controversy (merged)

Chamblee gave out his grades to a bunch of the tour players today on golf.com. here is his grade of tiger.

"Tiger Woods: When I was in the fourth grade, I cheated on a math test and when I got the paper back it had "100" written at the top and just below the grade, was this quote, "Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive!" It was an oft-quoted line from the epic poem "Marmion" by Sir Walter Scott, and my teacher's message was clear. Written once more beneath that quote was my grade of "100", but this time with a line drawn through it and beneath that an F. I never did ask my teacher how she knew I cheated and I certainly didn't protest the grade. I knew I had done the wrong thing and my teacher the right, but I never forgot the way I felt when I read that quote.

I remember when we only talked about Tiger's golf. I miss those days. He won five times and contended in majors and won the Vardon Trophy and ... how shall we say this ... was a little cavalier with the rules.*

I never really liked Chamblee. I don't like how his voice goes up 38 decibels when he gets going.

However I think it's pretty well established that Tiger's character is flawed. It's been clearly displayed on and off the course. You'd have to be a fool not to acknowledge it.

I award Chamblee a few points on this one. It's a pretty safe statement in regards to its validity but bold in it's assertiveness. The TW kids are really going to get their panties in a bunch.

Forum rules prevent me from stating my true thoughts and feelings about Brandel Chamblee. My grade for him is a big fat "F."

Golf Channel on-air "talent" leaves much to be desired.
Please, someone put Charlie Rhymer out of his (and my) misery first. Then Brandel. Chamblee is ironically the biggest Tiger hanger-on around. Pay some gratitude, Brandel. Where would your career be without him? (Or that entire channel for that matter.)

Greater Vancouver Open in '98. He beat Payne Stewart by three strokes. He came close to a second win in Arizona but was stymied behind a massive boulder and no one would help him move it.

I agree with nearly everything you have stated. Tiger has clearly shown his stripes.

But Chamblee's actions are a cheap shot; they show no self restraint or class, and this actually can reflect badly on Golf Channel, who employs him.

Brandel could have easily chosen to grade Tiger's 2013 by only his on-course official results, but he chose to use his forum to launch personal attacks against Tiger. It's just not very becoming.

I don't care about Tiger, so don't pay much attention to what he does. The FF button gets me though golf rather fast when skipping commercials and Tiger coverage. Its because of that, I had no idea... After reading Chamblee's grades, sounds like he has a sense of humor. I wonder how many people don't.
