Wait... In one breath your comparing the wb to an alpha.. Then your comparing it to di?

Drivers input is abt what is an acceptable comparison. I will say that the 70 alpha played much different than the 60 versions... But I wouldn't compare it to either the wb or di

The 70 was miles away from the 60 for me. I couldn't play the 60 at all.

I got very similar figures from the DI7s and Alpha 70s. Both were around mid height and there was only a couple of hundred RPM difference in the spin.

I'm with mad golfer on this one... The alpha (60g) was a HIGH launch HIGH spin shaft for my swing.

I was not and am not a fan.

Go and hit the 70 version and get back to me.

What did you hit the 60 in?

Nnnn...not entirely sure my experience with those shafts matches yours. I have more experience with the 60, and was able to bend it just by giving it a mean glare. Didn't launch and spin as much as the Tour shaft, but got up there aplenty. Alpha 70 I demoed a few times and didn't knock me out, so it never made it in the bag. Find it hard to believe that it matches up with a Whiteboard in any way. I know Mickelson had it in his driver, but that is probably the worst endorsement for a shaft ever, given his accuracy. And I like Mickelson...

Martin Kaymer rocked the Fubuki Alpha 70x all the way to the PGA title among others. I'm pretty sure someone else won a major with it as well around a similar time.

Phil was using a prototype K Fubuki.

I will readily agree the 60 was soft and very disappointing. The 70 is a different shaft.

For the record Kaymer has gone from the Fubuki Alpha 70x to now using a GD Di6x ;)

A variety of heads: tour issue R9, R11s, RBZ Tour and the RBZ. All heads responded poorly to that shaft. High spin and high launch except for when I changed my tempo to try to load the shaft slowly/evenly.

I'd try the 70 but I'm good off any more Fubukis (also had the tour back in 07 or 08...same problem).

I'll stick to my 70g RIP alpha or 7.2 TS. :)

Why are you mentioning use among tour players? There are many playing mid or higher launch shafts.

I'm not the biggest fan of most 60g shafts. WB, BB, RB, every Fubuki, etc. I have yet to find a shaft in the low 60g that's low anything.
