I understand MRC discontinuing the Redboard, but an awful lot of people LOVE the BB and WB. Lots of Tour guys use the WB still and BB in their FW's. The WB seems to find its way back into alot of guys bags after they try something new for awhile. I guess maybe they dont sell many anymore but I think they would if they dropped the price substantially on new ones, say around $149 MSRP instead of the $249. The WB is probably one of the best shafts ever made for higher speed players.

The White and Blueboard are now on 3rd generation models.

They have been upgraded, improved, replaced.

In other words they are outdated.
Yeah but if that were the case I think the new models would be showing up in more overwhelming numbers on tour, where it seems that there is almost a 50/50 split. If they are truly that much better? Or maybe it's just a better fit on a case by case basis.

Golfers are irrational creatures of habit, tour players even more so. The new W series may be just as good or even better for a given pro, but the comfort and reassurance of sticking with the Whiteboard may win out.
Agreed, tour pros are so consistent that they would get almost identical results with a handful of shafts that comfort ultimately takes precedence.

The specs have been really close throughout all 3 gens of these shafts. I guess they figured it was time to move on.

They are both outdated and here are some of the reasons why.

I didn't say better. I said outdated.

The new Diamana W series shaft follows the popular Kai'li, Ilima and Ahina models as well as the most recent B series. It is part of the 3rd Generation model of shafts by Diamana. It is a prededcessor of the Diamana B series and the Ahina Whiteboard model for the Athlete golfer.
It features application of a new Dialead carbon material which was originally made for space satelites. The new Dialead carbon is a very strong and light weight material which is very good for producing efficient energy transfer and preventing deformation and twisting, even for the vey high swing speeds.
The Dialead material is applied to the shaft with the 3D MDI (Multi-Dimensional Interlay) Technology. The 3D MDI is strategically angled and rolled carbon sheet pattern made to produce the most efficiency. The multi-layer sheets make the shaft very strong against deformation. The Dialead material is layered in a 90* cross pattern between the normal carbon sheets to produced enhanced consistency and feel.

None of this makes the shaft itself outdates. Any given their use on tour (original BB and WB), you're simply wrong

They are about as outdated as the Speeder 757, which is now on it's 5th paintjob. Same with Pro95.

Agreed, or simply that the shaft doesnt change things as much as some people like to think

If you have something that has the right flex, torque, bend profile and weight for you, it doesnt matter what materials are used, or how updated it is.

I do find my B series to be more consistent than the blueboard was. Otherwise, I agree with this. The same profiles are re-marketed. Same with putters, drivers, irons, and balls now.

Completely different animals. Fubuki is high (or at least mid/high) launch and spin, where the Whiteboard is low launch and spin.

The rest is quoting the manufacturer. Can you buy one from them anymore? NO Gee I guess it's been replaced

Have they learned anything about making shafts and made improvements in feel and performance? Mitsubishi says YES they have.
Seems like that would make someone think the WB is outdated.

Is the Ford Pinto you drive outdated? IMO it is............

You can agree or disagree with Mitsubishi. I couldn't care less either way. I simply stated the simple facts.

Just curious, how many upgrades have been made by T-made (or any other Manu.) to their Drivers over the last
5 years?? Because you still play the R7 that means the sldr isn't any better? I'm not saying it is but I'm sure T-made
thinks it is.....................................................................................................................................................................

I found the 60 not very likable but the 70 is extremely stable and anything BUT high spin and launch. It's not soft to flex either. The Alpha 70 won a couple of majors not all that long ago.

The figures between an Alpha 70s and WB73s will not be hugely different. The launch and spin figures for me with an Alpha 70s and DI7s tipped 1/2" were quite close.

Nnnn...not entirely sure my experience with those shafts matches yours. I have more experience with the 60, and was able to bend it just by giving it a mean glare. Didn't launch and spin as much as the Tour shaft, but got up there aplenty. Alpha 70 I demoed a few times and didn't knock me out, so it never made it in the bag. Find it hard to believe that it matches up with a Whiteboard in any way. I know Mickelson had it in his driver, but that is probably the worst endorsement for a shaft ever, given his accuracy. And I like Mickelson...
