Golf Shoes for AZ Summer Play

Looking for some recommendations for a shoe playing in AZ summer heat. Walking and riding most times. Spike or spikeless. Just need something comfy and breathable.

I second the TRUE Knits. But, you need to act fast on them because they are discontinuing them. Only a few colors/sizes left.

I live in AZ and what shoes I wear on the course in summer depends on what time of the day I'm playing. Most courses here use the sprinkler system in summer to completely drench the place overnight, so if you are teeing off early in the morning it will be wet. When I play early, I go for waterproofing over other shoe qualities. For afternoon rounds I tend to wear lighter, more breathable shoes since the course is dried out by then.

Linkswear True Knit or FJ Flex if you're looking for a comfortable and breathable.

Both are breathable but I prefer the Linkswear for walking.

I normally play after it dries out. I’ll look into True Knot for sure.

Make sure they’re white/light color. Black is easier to keep clean...but an absolute oven on your feet there. Speaking from the experience.

For sure. Lived here for a few years and play most of my golf in the summer when I can afford to play all the nice courses here. As an AZ resident so would never buy black shoes. Lol

honestly I don’t have summer shoes because most don’t seem to have solid toe/sidewall support, so a good pair of socks seems more useful than super lightweight mesh type shoes

I tried on a pair of Travis Mathew’s Cuarter Moneymaker and it was one of the most comfortable golf shoes I’ve tried on. If they had the color I wanted, I would have picked a pair up. They look casual so would go well with shorts.

Agreed on the socks. I found the Swiftwick Vibe to be really good in the heat. New Balance makes (made?) a shoe called Breeze which is a lightweight mesh. I have a pair for late afternoon and they are ok. Socks make a bigger difference.

Those look sick. Might need a pair.

True Linkswear Knit or Eco-Knit I would think

If you are looking for purely for comfort and a lightweight/breathable shoe, Tomo Vol 1 is solid. They are by no means a technical golf shoe, and I can see why some people think they are not stable enough for a golf swing.. I haven't had any issues on hard/dry surfaces with them though.

Just picked up adipure boost adidas. All leather and excellent comfort. Clearance on a lot of sites now.

Love their look. I Have never been able to try on to see fit and comfort. Do you walk?

Walked my first 18 in them two days. Most comfortable shoe yet. Nike air zoom victory tour is close comfort wise but much stiffer feel to the shoe itself. Footjoy pro SL has been comfy also, but not in same league as the adipure boost. The adidas shoe has a sole that bounces back as you walk/apply pressure. Hard to explain, but they are something unique in golf shoes.

I agree wholeheartedly. I’ve found that Smartwool running socks are the best thing to keep my feet comfortable when it’s hot here. That and I don’t wear black shoes in the summer. The mesh are great for practice but like you I prefer more support when I’m on the course. How are you man? Hope all is well!
