iPhone 5

So the details for the iPhone 5 are being released today in a press conference at 1pm! Anyone else stoked about this or is it just me?

I'm definitely interested but I won't be able to jump on the bandwagon right away. I'm not due for an upgrade for about another year.

So basically, I'm green with envy!

By the way...I got a kick out of this picture of the iPhone 5 that was circulating around the Internet!

The video was released at 3, I'm at work, waiting on the internet to hurry up and load it so I can watch!!! Same @KaTooM I have the 4s and only got it 1 year ago, bummer.

I have the 3GS and I'm upgrading. I refused to get the 4/4S because of the glass back and absence of LTE. Thinner/lighter is good. Ambivalent on taller screen (yay more room, boo bigger phone.)

I suspect I'll be waiting awhile though. I fully expect stock to sell out immediately and I refuse to camp out or anything like that. I'll just hobble along with my cracked, sometimes working 3GS. I just hope its not like the iPad2 where the wait was 4 months.

I do hope PING comes out with a new cradle to fit the iPhone 5 though.

I watched the entire feed today. I will be pre ordering my white/silver iPhone 5 64 on Friday the 14th. I cannot wait!!!

Yeah my phone is cracked on the back and I'm just waiting to get it fixed bc I just put a case to cover it up and it works fine lol. Ill wait for the iPhone 5S haha

You know it will be coming out for sure, its just a matter of time...

Agreed about the sales and lines being outrageous.

I heard a small part of a story about it on the news this morning and they reported that the sales of this single device has the potential to boost the Gross Domestic Product by a quarter to half a percent.

I'm not an economist nor do I play one on TV so I'm not really sure I know what this means. However, I can infer that they're predicting A LOT of people buying the new phone!

I've had my 3GS for almost three years, I'll be upgrading. I've been due for an upgrade for a while anyway.

Current phone has multiple cracks and chips in the case but the screen is perfect. Only thing that bothers me is that the silent button doesn't work anymore.

When I upgraded to my 4 from a 3G I was blown away!

i'm fine with my 3gs. if i get a deal on a 5, great. more likely i'll buy an old 4 or 4s instead.

Like the new features but I hate the fact that it's bigger... Cargo short may come back in style to carry your new iPhone. I'll be keeping the 4S and will be getting the next revision (5s?) this doesn't have me excited enough to upgrade without the discounts

The only thing I don't like is the new connector lightening device...

I have a 4g and will eventually upgrade I'm sure. The thing I'm NOT excited about is replacing all my accessories that use the 30 pin conniption. Clock radio at home, dock in the kitchen, clock radio at work, and car charger. So its $299 plus a couple extra hundred for the accessories.

Agreed...you might be in luck though. One of the online techno-gadget sites I saw had a story where they are just about guaranteeing that Apple will sell adapter. Hopefull Apple or the aftermarket will see a need for one and produce it.

Oh, Apple has one. Two, in fact.

Have they changed it on the iPod yet? That could screw things up for people with OEM iPod connectors in their car. In my car I have one in the glove box, I could not plug that adapter into it and then the iphone and still be able to close my glove box. With that said, my video iPod (you know the first video Gen model) is now fully dedicated to my glove box. If I didn't have one, and they change the ipod connector, than I would be f'ed.

The new iPod Touch and iPod Nano have the new lightning connectors.

Changing the connector is brilliant business. $29/$39 for the adapters is going to make them loads of additional profit over what they are making off the phone. Everyone who buys a new phone or ipod will also be buying an adapter to get their devices to work with current accessories. Also have to buy a new case to fit the new dimensions of the phone also increasing revenue. The best part is people are going to be lined up beating their doors down to give them all this money!! I will be keeping my 4S till next year and am not thrilled about the physical dimensions getting larger.

The iPhone 10 is hilarious!

Just pre-ordered mine... black 64gb version.

£169 up-front charge, £47 per month for unlimited calls, texts and 3gb data.

Delivered on launch date, 21st September.

Me too. 16GB black though.

I freakin got up in the middle of the night to do it because my 3GS is all kinds of busted up. Microphone dead = I can only use headphones. So I wanted to make sure I got my order in ASAP and didn't get stuck backordered. (Yes, I know. I could have gotten an Android phone or a 4S, but I'm content with my iPhone and wanted to stick with it. And I refused to get the 4/4S because of the glass back and lack of 4G/LTE).

Luckily, I got a 9/21 delivery date. Others weren't so lucky I guess. People in the Apple Forums saying that within 30 minutes, shipping had been changed to "Ships in 2 weeks." I can't wait until I can just, you know, answer my phone instead of scrambling to locate headphones.

Ordered my through AT&T a few minutes ago and got a 9/21 delivery date. Considering the shape of my current phone (see pics), I'm pretty excited about this!

do you people not use a case at all? I have had my 4S since it came out and have no issues with it... hell my wife hasnt even broken her's and thats a feat in itself. I did get the insurance plan for the first time when I got the 4s because of the glass breaking issue.

Interesting that AT&T is still issuing 9/21 delivery dates but Apple is not.
