New 2016 Callaway Chrome Soft

Recommended Posts

So the STAR ball is in fact softer and lower compression?!

No. Firmer and Higher Compression. Resulted in more spin on all clubs.

Cheers, the post above states differently so I have no idea!

My home course was over crowded yesterday because of the 65 degree temps and snow last week. So getting in the course proved a futile endeavor to pursue. So anyway it caused me to stand on the putting green with a couple balls and roll 2 hours worth of putts. One 2016 chrome soft. One pro v1. I don't know what it is but I make an abnormally higher percentage of putts with the chrome soft. I made it the first ball on purpose so that I wouldn't " know the brake " and I made a lot of them 1st ball where I didn't get as good of a roll on the second with the pro v 1. And that's with knowing what the putt should do. Switched it up. And then I'm making almost every second putt with the chrome soft. And I'm talking 20 footers at times and there is hardly a straight putt on our practice green. Anyone have any insight as to why this is ? It's so different it's puzzling to me.

Ball compression still plays a factor in how fast even a putt comes off a putter with a similar stroke between two different balls.

Like maybe an extra inch of runout on a 10 foot putt if that. I've never seen a still frame of a putter compressing a golf ball.

Still produces some rebound effect. but feel of a softer compression may mentally make someone swing the putter slower or faster too.

Maybe. Obviously feel and sound are gonna be different but putting the exact stroke on 2 different balls at opposite ends of the spectrum probably isn't gonna result in any negligible, if any, distance disparity.

Yeah played today with the new CS on wet wet wet cold and windy conditions and all I can say is WOW! This ball is really good. Former than the last for sure, very low spin with the driver, plenty of check with partial wedge shot but not too much on full wedges. Exactly what I wanted to see. Kudos Callaway.

Well my order for the new yellow Truvis was canceled. Apparently all Truvis balls won't be out until May.

Dicks has the white/red Truvis in stock right now. I picked up a dozen Saturday
