The Open 2018 Scripting

This may blow your mind thinking about clothes picked a week or more ahead of time....

 

They're actually picked a full season ahead of time. Someone like DJ already has seen renderings of what he'll wear in next years masters, for example

 

 

I wish my game was good enough that I could forgo a day of practice to sit down with my inner circle and decide which pants will fung sheui best with my shirt and headcovers. These guys are good.

 

I could be the only guy in the world that buys his clothes based on what is on the sale rack that fits and picks his shirt based on what I have clean at the time. The fact that my shorts don't contribute to swamp a&& is just a bonus.

 

 

Serious question here, at what handicap or skill level is it permissable for a guy to script his weekend gold duds? I feel like a 14 shouldn't be more concerned with how he looks on the course as much as how his swing looks. I mean I want to go full Ricky orange but don't think my game will allow it.

 

Are the guys on the Hooters tour scripting? (Is the Hooters tour still a thing?)

 

Every player on every tour scripts their clothes for the week. They can’t travel with their entire closet.

I definitely know people who are more concerned with their outfit than their playing haha if you can't play the part, you can at least look the part!

Big fan of the RLX stuff as well, the quality is insane, some polo shirt I have been wearing forever and still look great colour /...

Justin Thomas is a good example of style modern classic look as well/ good brand ambassador.

He's going to Uniqlo to buddy up with Adam Scott and old Nike stalwart Roger Federer :taunt:

I'm a big fan of the RLX kit too - echo your thoughts on the quality. I find the fit is a bit strange but they've got some really nice lines.

I think JT is a Polo Golf guy rather then RLX range though - I'm not a huge fan of the the Polo Golf stuff, logo is a bit too 'in your face' for my liking and I prefer the tech / polyester materials that RLX use.

 

Having said that, JT often looks pretty fresh.

I've got a mate that goes on our annual trip with all his golf and apres (I thought the thread deserved the word) golf clothes in separate zip lock bags, packed by his wife.

 

Can't wait to tell him he's "scripting", he normally just gets the piss taken out of him.

Haha, brilliant - I hope the guys got some game to back it up! I like the term apres - golf too. The act of drinking too much beer and recalling all of your 'missed chances' to a bunch of other people doing exactly the same, but no one gives a sh!t about anyone else's missed chances - only their own.

He's 5"7 and 240lbs, I suspect she is not overly worried about him picking up super models in country Australia.

I'm 26 hcp and post my weekend scripts before I play on Instagram.

 

It's part of the enjoyment of golf for me.
