Taylormade vs Titleist vs Callaway vs Srixon

Let be honest, they all make good balls. I just curious in your guys experiences using the big name balls. Wondering if you guys have done any testing. Mainly curious about the more popular models for each company (Pro V, TP5, Chrome Soft, Z Star, etc).

I agree, all the top brands premium balls are at least 95% the same (The top 5 at least, Titleist, Callaway, Taylor Made, Bridgestone and Srizon). No major diff between those premium urethane balls. I also need to try the Snell MTB-X soon.

Personally I prefer the ZStar and TP5 for my game, but they’re all very good.

All the top balls perform similar for me as far as distance and spin are concerned. What I look for is how it reacts in the wind, durability, and feel off the putter. For me, it's the Z star. I keep trying to find a better all around ball and I can't. I've tried a lot of balls too.

Quality is best in titleist, Srixon and Bridgestone. I don’t mess with any other ball

I can only compare the XV and the Pro V1x.

XV is more consistent in distance but less workable and less spin. The spin is more than adequate for me. Pretty much drop and stop with 6 iron through wedges. Titleist spins to much with wedges for me because I am good, but not so good to control spin. Feel, the Titleist is much better as the XV is rather clicky and the Vx is not.

 

Inwent with XV because I have played for several years and am used to its performence and because consistency in distance is very important to me.

All are great balls. Funny I have ALL in my bag right now.... sad I know. Or did. Not good for the game I know jumping around LOL

 

IF I had to lock it down to one / two balls, TP5X would _(really is)_ be my gamer. Second would be a XV or ProV. Coin toss but lean to XV. Some reason I dont get along with the Tour B balls?? Not sure why but just have not. I bought a sleeve of Bx and Bs and great balls but just dont fit me personally.

Bridgestone and Titleist are the two standouts imo.

I really wanted to like the new Bridgestone balls but just can't. Honestly for me, nothing plays better than the V1x, but I don't like the price. I get a great deal on Srixons so I play the Z Star (which to me is the perfect blend between the V1 and V1x). My gamer ball is the Vice Pro Plus, but you didn't ask about that brand.

I agree the Z Star is an outstanding ball. I have some of my best scores with it and will continue to use it.
