Wow, All hybrid irons work great.

I always joked about doing this with my friends because I hit my hybrid better than any of my other clubs but you actually did it! Set looks awesome, maybe I'll have to try this someday.

I sure that will require some "control" or "shot-shaping" techniques

They have exactly the same length, loft and lie angles compared to my MP69. The only difference is the head shape and size. So distance-wise, these hybrids go the same distance as the MP69s but with tons of confidence and forgiveness.

ย

I got the headcovers from Amazon. Plenty of different designs

After installing the shafts , how did you get the swing weight correct? Also, did you order the shafts all the same when ordered? Reason being is Iโ€™ve got a set of Cleveland HBs with Px in them and this thread has my wheels turning the more I follow it. > @SmashGolfBall said:

I probably can't hit the low lofted version of these designs but I think from say 22 to 30 degrees they would be quite good. I've always had difficulty with the higher lofted, bigger headed versions.

Might try the Ladies heads. Sometimes OEMs go to higher lofts in the ladies hybrids/fairway woods

There are plenty of men's hybrids that go to 30 degrees. It's the specific models I mentioned that don't. They are more players than GI type and the OEMs probably assume no one will buy one with the higher lofts.

gotcha. I wonder if some of the older small adams hybrids went that high in loft

I took out the original shafts of the hybrids, added the tip weight to each shaft of my own (Project X 6.0 flighted in this case), and measured the swing weight to make sure each club is consistent, then installed the shafts.

I hear you. The "number" on the club sometimes could be misleading since each OEM or model may have different loft. (Stronger loft every year).

My buddy has a set of single length hybrids from Pinhawk. 4-PW. Had a chance to hit the 6, 8 and PW recently.

ย

The wedge I couldnโ€™t get comfortable with. The 8 was a joy to hit. I struggle with height and low descent angles. Those hybrids definitely helped there.

The hybrid PW definitely looks odd to me. It will take a while to get used to...

just purchased a set of the Cleveland Launchers, 4-PW. my iron game has been regressing over the last few years, to the point that it seemed impossible to hit anything consistently . after a short sample size I have found that my shots with the Clevelands, are at least all going in a positive direction. when hit anything remotely well, they are long and feel amazing. mishits will at least get up in the air and move towards the target. Changing from my Bridgstone JGR Forged was not an easy decision , but, a good one. i am 67 and they have helped me.

Cheer for you to find the magic wand. I also had a hard time to dump out these blade or CB pretty irons. But my scorecard smiled at me and said "Thank you", so I am glad I made the change.

The rep was by our club today. I hit the HB Launcher Turbo irons.

ย

At address they look surprisingly ok. The PW looks like a normal GI wedge. You cant see any of the back at all. Just the face.

The shaft he had didn't work for me. Bit I was still able to hit the 4I high and at least as far as my current g410 hybrid.

Definitely more of a draw bias than the PING

  • 2 years later...

Thought I'd re-kindle this thread because I've gone to this route as of today ๐Ÿ˜ƒ had hybrid 19, 23 & 27 in anyway but I've finally had enough of struggling with my jacked up irons. Season finished today and I got so fed up of hitting decent drives and utterly woeful iron shots....best shots I hit to a green was with hybrid in hand...on the longer more difficult holes.ย

Came home, wife said what you want for Xmas......so I said a 6,7,8,9 in hybrids ๐Ÿคฃ so she she's actually bought them ๐Ÿคฃย

Now I've got a full set of mizunos I can't hit for toffee in the house....only 2 years old but my stupid vanity got in way on purchase. But I can't wait til they come
