His disdain for actual science (unless it is labeled Titleist) bothers the heck out of me though. he absolutely crossed the line into "ZEALOT" when his benefactor's balls were embarrassed by Kirkland and ****'s research.

Unfortunately, I am sure he plays well to that certain audience that is all too predisposed to eschew actual facts and science so long as it fits a more "comfortable" agenda. ("there is no such thing as man-made global warming"...."a rocket scientist (Dave Pelz) doesn't know how to do science better than me"....."anything not named titleist is bad for golf"....

I just don't think Breed actually knows or understands golf well enough to be a teacher and, or, player. I expect he has made a career for himself as an instructor mostly by using his personality. I think his is a case of style over substance, and in the world of golf instruction that is actually common.

The more I listen, the less I like the podcast. He was better on Sirius XM and I wonder how long this podcast can go on. His son reading Voodoo Cream reads, way too much interaction with his producer, and Steve Johnson is neither intelligent or interesting. How can Hank be making any money off of this? Hank hates this part of the Tour season; he won't get excited until Tiger plays again. Without good guests, it's a bad listen right now.

Haney's first podcast is an interview with Mark O'Meara, where O'Meara does most of the talking, including behind the scenes Tour stuff. I enjoyed that one because it was O'Meara talking, not Hank.

I always like Hank's show. Always good for some laughs.

But, I like the Paulson's a lot better. They are finding a great rhythm in their show. I listen to Inside the Ropes a lot.

Steve Johnson is really bad. Weak analysis when he tries. Even Hank calls him out on some of his stupid opinions.

Hank Haney no longer has a Sirius Radio show.

Hank rips on Steve all day. Might as well call him the whipping boy.

I went to a golf expo where Breed spoke and enjoyed his presentation very much. I met him at his booth and bought his book, chatted for a while. I left thinking, “Wow, I’ve got to be more like THAT guy.” Impossibly positive, personable, interested, engaging. That said, I’ve had enough of his show — either he has become too preachy or always has been and it has started to grate on me. And I think that he and Hank were, in an odd way, two sides of the same coin. Both veneers of honesty over deep wells of commercial self-interest.

I agree !

Breed I think has gotten by with a smile and promotion of positive thinking, both in his earlier days as a club teaching pro and later as t.v.-radio personality.

Haney earlier in his career was a legitimate teacher, but after his association with Tiger he gained celebrity status. The celebrity factor I think caused Haney to change his personality from one of golf teacher to one of entertainment/shock value.

The problem I have with most podcasts is that they are usually done by folks that are not professional broadcasters. They don't understand pacing or audience engagement. They become a person droning on endlessly because they have a microphone. Even when the hosts aren't pros the pros keep the shows moving right if they are on a different broadcast medium.

I completely agree. I can't see his podcast going on like this. Today's episode was better because Tiger won, but a good episode is few and far between.

For several years now Haney has had more passion and positive enthusiasm for Pickleball than golf. So, if Sirius Radio ever launches a Pickleball Channel it is possible that Haney would be considered as a show host.

Last year Hank said pickleball would overtake golf in terms of popularity in a few years

If Haney can help promote pickleball, that may be a good thing.. Golf absolutely does not need his commentary.
