New Level Golf Equipment

Just wanted to know if anyone has purchased any New Level irons and if they have what did you think about them? I was set on buying a new set of mixed MP-20’s until I came across the New Level irons. I just really liked their looks and the owners story. I’ve always been a fan of the little guy and I like to see small companies make it.

Welcome to GolfWrx. There have been several threads started on New Level over the last year or so. WRX has a search function but honestly, my opinion the best search engine for WRX is Google. Here is a link to a Google search for "New Level Golf GolfWrx": https://www.google.com/search?q=new+level+golf+golfwrx&rlz=1C1GCEU_nlNL849NL849&oq=new+level+golf+golfwrx&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i60.4672j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Thanks for your response. The 902’s were what I was looking at. As for customer service, they answered my email/tweets almost immediately. Unreal. I got a 250$ Trackman fitting for 50$ at a local golf show from a very reputable fitter and will be getting my specs soon. First post on GolfWRX and I once again appreciate your reply.

Thank you both for replying. I had planned on getting at least one 4995 4 iron and possibly a 3 as well. I can handle the 4 but was a little concerned about a 3. Driver speed is 95-100 80ish on 7 iron but I’m getting older and my speed is slowing down. I was going to go with 95 gram SteelFiber shafts due to elbow and hand issues.

What weight do you use in the Steelfibers? 95 or 110 and what flex did you go with? Also, if you used steel shafts prior to the Steelfibers did you have any problem adjusting to the weight difference? I’m definitely going with Steelfibers or graphite in my irons this time. I could use a little more swing speed and a little less wear and tear on the elbows. Thanks for your reply and input.

New Levels are incredible. I love my 902s. I sold my 919 Forged to get them. Eric is absolutely incredible. You will love them.

Eric told me about the SteelFiber flighted shaft that was just coming out when I bought my 1031s. I'm using the FC90 stiff, which has a weight of 95 grams. I really like the shafts. Have not had much of an issue going from 114 grams of steel to the FC90. No doubt an indication of how little talent I have. I also think that as I have aged and haven't been able to play and practice much, this shaft is likely a much better fit for me. Now, when I swing a 114 to 120 gram shaft it is noticeably different. I prefer the SteelFibers. Over the years, I've played Project X 6.5, 6.0, KBS Tour X and Modus stiff stock in Srixon irons, going down in weight and flex as I've aged. Really like the SFs. Btw, it was interesting to talk to Eric. He also set me up with some demo 6 irons that made my decision as to what to buy easier.

If you got rid of your Mizuno’s then that is pretty high praise for the New Level’s. I really liked the MP-20 line and was just about to pull the trigger last October, but I wasn’t sold on the shaft that was chosen by the 3D Optimizer. The Trackman fitting should give me a much clearer picture on how the Steelfibers will preform with my swing. Regardless it’s going to be Graphite or Steelfibers because I need some relief. I discovered the New Level’s on McGolf’s YouTube channel. They looked really sharp and after going to the New Level site and checking out their entire lineup I thought that I’d give them a chance. Eric and his company get high marks across the board and that means a lot when you are putting down some decent money.

I have the TGI 80s in my irons and love them. My 919F had Steelfibers but the weight wasn't correct for me.

I've had the 1031s Blacks for a season now and will play them again for 2020. They are incredibly soft and the ball feels like it explodes off the face and stops really quickly. I had some Dynamic Gold 105s in them for most of the 2019 season and recently switched to Accra 110 graphites. These shafts really made the clubs come alive. I think I only missed 2 greens when using the irons, and when I did it was just a distance issue coming up short or going long. It was really windy that day and hard to judge how much +/- club to take. Even on the GCQuad I hit on sometimes I just paint the middle line with them with the new shafts. I am super happy with them now that they are dialed in.

I've sold two other sets to customers of mine and they both love them. One of them in the 1031 and the other into 902s.

  • 2 weeks later...

Seem to be solid so far. However, I don't play a lot <30 rounds a year. But the one club I practice with fairly often (6i) still looks pretty darn good despite it's more than average use compared to the rest of the set.
