I see hime being a Ping man by next season! Sorry to see that seemore go though, they make great sticks.

Being a Ping fan and having a bag full of their clubs, i always like the idea of having more players on the Tour rep them. However, i doubt we'll see him as a Ping staffer next year as they probably don't pay as much as TMAG does.

Funny how in the Taylor Made website, in the section dedicated to Tour players, D. A. Points is nowhere to be seen. But, they show Snedeker, Stroudt and Pampling in pictures wearing hats of the competition. But already Mizuno updated the website and congratulates Siem on the victory.

Yes. Ping has made i5 irons with conforming grooves for tour play. The tour people know which sets are conforming and who has them.

someone correct me if I'm wrong but the only Ping pro to leave for a different OEM sponsor then return to Ping was Calcavecchia

You look at Ping's list of staffers and all have been life-time Ping pro's....I think that's their business model ....still it's interesting to see many pro's still bagging Ping's much like how Points does.....Atwal, Mayfair, Lumpy to name a few

Homepage also says he was playing a Taylormade Burner fairway not a PING. Could've sworn he had a HFS in hand yesterday.

Tour W's don't have conforming grooves either, must be special.
golf.com shows that he is using the tour gorge wedges. you can also see those in the bag on all the pics.

many of the non conforming clubs the pros are using are only available to the public in that way but are obviously made conforming for them.

How do the I5's compare to the i20s?
I have both....i5's have a little more offset and I found i20's slightly longer. 155 vs 165 six iron for me at 86mph (could have been the shaft). I have DG S300 in i5s and CFS Stiff in i20s.

i20s are more progressive with the 4iron a little chunky and the PW more player lilke.

I often go back to the i5s (especially if it is wet out) as, like many on here, I think they are the best Ping iron ever made.

Stealth, TSR2, AP2's, and a JB Versa

Fred Couples is the only other player I can think of who played Ping & left. They do keep their players & some have never played anything else. Also the list of players over the years who have played a Ping club is like a who's who of champions.

I never played i5s but I do really like them.
