That last shot going for the green in regulation on 18 was straight out sick. Ballsy, but sick. 245 high cut over water and to a tucked pin on peninsula green to 8 feet. B E A U T I F U L.

Great shot - would have loved to have seen a Pro Tracer on that one. It's a shame he missed the putt.

Just saw that on DVR, that shot on 18 was freaking amazing! Really like how he showed some emotion after dropping it on that pin.. I just wish he would have made that putt, it really would have put him up in that Tiger category for clutch. My DVR cut off before the playoff, doesn't sound like I need to do any digging to see it

I was referring to the 3rd round. He shot 69 but could've easily gone a few lower. He played some great iron shots that day.
Pity he couldn't hold it together in the final round but there is no doubt he is getting back towards playing his best golf.
That shot on 18 shows he still has the balls and the skill to be the best.

Followed Rory for the most of the day today at the Shell Houston Open. Man this guy is good! He didn't have the best day on the greens but hit the ball really well for the most part. One of the things that really stood out to me was his approach into the 18th. I watched several groups hit their approach shots into 18 and most of them were landing the ball 20-30 feet short of the pin and allowing the ball to release up to the hole. Rory's approach was hit a MILE into the air and stopped within a 6 inches of his ball mark. It has to be a huge advantage to be able to hit the ball that high!

Truly a more than gifted player. It's really ashamed what happened with him last year. I think he'd have at least a couple more wins under his belt and probably another major.

I followed him at TPC Boston in the fall. Even though he was not scoring well his driving was unbelievable. The ball just makes a different noise when he hits it. Not even Tiger or Stenson have that sound. He was out driving Nick Watney (not short!) by a mile. His drives were carrying way past where Watneys drives finished. It just seemed like he did not trust his short irons and wedges. I am not sure he is 100% back but it seems like tee to green he's around 90% and just needs to get his putter hot. Hoping The Masters gets him going.

He's amazing on his driver, the way he uses the ground to get power. Check his knee flex at address and then how he "squats" into the shot. Plus his balance is sublime.

I am a poor golfer, but over the winter I spent time attempting to emulate Rory's finish and balance at the end (we are roughly the same size, he's more muscular). After a round on Friday, one of my club's pros came up to me and told me he noticed me from another fairway, and said my set up was perfect, and my balance was great.
