These are Dustin Johnson's current 2014 radar numbers using I believe an 11.3* SLDR but I'm no sure on shaft specs. His launch is lower and spin higher than I would have guessed.

17/1700 seems like a distance "ideal." However, it is not the ideal for some real world golf conditions, especially firm and fast PGA Tour courses. 1700 spin would run out into the rough on many PGA Tour tracks. There is going to be a happy medium somewhere, and I think TMaG has expressed as much. However, high spin still plagues a lot of amateurs. They are never going to reach 17/1700, but it is a quantifiable goal.

DJ hits down on the ball quite a bit....they showed us his swing on the MATT device at the Taylormade Performance Lab in Naples, and it was really impressive how much he really hits down with his driver. Given that, those numbers are pretty impressive.

So if loft up doesnt work yet you get more gains with a lower lofted SLDR what does that tell us about Loft Up?

But If you have been fitted for your gamer then Taylermade should be able to try out any combo they like on you.
