Can a shaft change the sound of impact

I was wondering if two different shafts in the same head be a different head?

Absolutely. Shafts have a huge influence on the sound/feel of a club. This fact is almost completely overlooked on WRX.

Interesting. I ask because I rotate shafts into different heads a lot. Recently put a S+ and Kaili (tipped 1") into the same head and the sound is very different. Much more muted with the Kaili setup.

Yes! My G25 sounds like a different club when I switch between my AD DI 7X and the Kiyoshi White.....more dead head sounding with the KW in it. I've found that the more tip stiff/low launching/spinning the shaft, the less "pingy" the sound.

I had a Motore Speeder Tour Spec Shaft that sounded more muted at impact. I loved the sound change, but it ultimately proved to be too much shaft for me.

That is some of the best info I have ever taken from this site. Good to know as I like a more muted sound personally. Getting ready to swap my Ahina 70x out for a Speeder TS 6.2x in my 9.5 SLDR. I believe the TS should be a lower launching/ lower spin shaft.....hopefully that will mute the impact sound a bit more than what I am currently getting.

Somewhat off-topic...but I've never quite grasped the idea that the sound of driver can be good or bad.

I've always figured that the sound of a ball landing in a fairway is the best sound of all....no matter what the impact of driver and ball sounds like.

I couldn't care less what the impact sounds like as long as the results are good.

Certainly could be..... I've just noticed that every time I've owned a club and reshafted it, the sound and therefore feel has changed. My G25 is much more audible with the AD DI in it than the Oban KW.
