I would love to get these irons, but realistically $1500 is a lot for a set of irons. I have the money, that's not the issue, but I thought $800 was a lot for my AP2s, I am not sure the performance warrants almost double the price.

It is cool they are built at the Oven though, good luck to those that try.

I agree with you 100% I mean $1500 is very expensive for a set of irons. What differences will I see in technology vs. anything else out there. Not to mention the only specs on these are that Tiger and Rory helped put them together. That's great! Last Time I checked no one here is Tiger or Rory. In general Blades are difficult to hit, but I don't see how these or vr blades or titliest blades would be any different other then looks.

We've been told for a while that we would see new blades this fall

According to their twitter account the protos will be a one time occurrence. Hopefully they're not pulling a bait and switch. A better way to spend $1500 than google glass.

I'm sure these will be released this fall as a regular retail offering. Those will not be individually built at the Oven though...

Very, very interesting iron design. I have no doubt these things are true weapons in the right hands. But, looking at the photos, the nil offset, the flat almost camberless sole and the extended sharp leading edge etc. kind of make me think that anyone who isn't a plus HDCP and true ball striker will find these very difficult, perhaps extremely difficult, to manage on an off day.

But, maybe they've found a way around all those issues. Maybe these aren't just beautiful but evolutionary as well. I would still need to see some reviews by golfers at various HDCP levels before making the plunge. On the other hand, these are going to be pretty much a one of a kind set and that alone is a good reason to jump on a set now.

I could see this on eBay for about $3,500 to $4,500 resell. That is if the person get it's no custom stampings, standard L/L/L and probably a Dynamic Gold shaft.

For those who think this is a hefty price tag, did you see all the customization you can get for the $1500? C-Tapers and SF as "stock" options, plus customized stamping in a few colours. Not to mentioned they are coming straight from the oven. If only I were from the US, I would have everyone on my team hammering the Nike page to buy a set, lol.

I have a feeling that the MM proto may stay on the full retail release too. I'm hoping to land a set of the protos but I seriously doubt that is going to happen with only 40 being released.

$1500 for a custom set of irons from The Oven. Free shaft upgrade and stamping. Consider that $1500 well spent. Only issue is that I have to fight 40 other guys in the USA to get one.

Good friend who is a club fitter checked with his rep. Rep said they won't know anything for a couple more weeks about all the new releases, either that or they are staying tight lipped.
