Never even considered moving away from my MPs while happy to change pretty much everything else in my bag. These Nike's have the first real chance to do so and somehow i must say they even look a bit Mizuno with a Nike flavor on them

As much as I love these MM Protos, if these are replacing their blades I might have to grab a set of blades before they disappear. Some of the best blades on the market for sure

Since the last ProCombo was more geared towards GI with the wider soles, more pocket irons and no blades. Maybe the next PC will be more pro inspired, thin soled, half pocket and half blades. Hopefully Nike can finally get the pocket cavity worked out like the Bridgestone DPC and Mizuno 54. Don't get me wrong because the VR forged PC pocket irons feel better than before but still not as good as others. I really like my irons and the GI features of them are helpful but I would buy a half and half set of these in a heartbeat.

I'm guessing only one of these will make it to retail, and would probably put money on the ones with the pocket. Unless that was specific to the 2-irons only.

Either way, pretty exciting design here.

 

It is extremely more possible that these are the mark of the Covert Line being truly official at the Nike Oven and that there will be this blade, a cavity back, and a pocket cavity. You are seeing the end of the Pro Combo and the beginning of the Nike players irons. At least that is my theory, these are Nike's answer to the MP line of Mizuno.

 

P.S. These are looking fantastic and I can't wait to give them a try.

Looks like they are finally moving away from the 'VR' name which I feel is a good move. Still haven't met a Nike blade I haven't liked i'm sure these won't be any different.

Looks like they are building Henley a set on the tour van, he's been a long time hold out on the old VR Game Improvement irons in the top of his bag, interested to see if these kick those out.

Also judging by the build sheet in the Henley pic, listing MMPROTOBlade I'm assuming we will definitely see a PC and Blade version of this set in retail.

I'd put my chips on them releasing one version with PC 3-6 Blade 7-P with the option to go blade all the way through 3 via custom order.

Similar to how Cobra handled the Amp Pro

I loved the original Nike forged blades, they were simple and clean. These are the nicest looking Nike irons I have see since the originals! Nike is definitely stepping up their game!
