Sure did. It was very dark despite the lighting.

I liked really everything about the Pro Combos. Surprisingly easy to hit and I could hit a consistent draw. Tried the 5, 6, 9 and wedge.

Hit the Speed as well. Forgiving and just straight.

I talked to Nike about Speed 4-5 and Pro Combo 6-P but they insist pro Combos are so much better than before even Fallon could hit them (11 hcp).

So it looks like there is no replacement for the Covert Forged? I guess you would have to bump up to the Pro Combos? Not that I want to replace my Covert Forged right now, I just bought them 4 months ago, but would be nice to have that option later on.

Rors played the MMProto 2 iron first at the Scottish then The British. Rory's last 4 shots (excl putts) to win the Open were struck with the proto 2.

Yes, but golfers are an impatient bunch aren't we? If you look at their basketball releases Nike announces (officially) the limited colorway of shoes a week or two in advance. Strike while the iron is hot no?

However in this age of spy shots and leaked inventory pictures I can see why they want to be the ones that unveil the irons.

Still after yesterday I was excited to go in an pre-order my Pro Combo. I still can't even do that for another month. Who is to say another company won't announce something a week before the Pro Combo release?

I am stoked that the Pro Combo has a Gap wedge now. I like having a matching Gap since its my 125yd club as well as my go to chipping and pitching club. Nike feel free to set me up with the Pro Combo 2,5-A with some recoil 125 shafts. In return you can paint Volt Swoosh's onto my car.

I saw that last night. I think that is a great option for those of us that want to "step on" a wedge. I like have a 50/52 in the bag but around greens it is nice to have a bigger headed option for sure.

This is more of what I'm surprised about that you can't even pre-order them for another month and a half. I would think they would have opened the pre-ordering up today to feed off the hype of the event. But then again to release a club basically at the start of winter when much of the country won't touch a club for 5 or 6 months doesn't make much sense to me either.

Love the shape and look of the blade. Hosel progression, toe shape, grooves, everything. I've never been a Nike fan, but these have be intrigued for some reason. I must have been spellbound by this grand launch event plan....

By the way. thanks for faithfully posting all the pictures and for the updates, HipCheck. I think your efforts have been lost a little a midst the insert and color scheme debates.

99% of all guys using players irons love simple classic look....they should have just copied the mmproto....they go ahead and Jack up a perfectly good looking iron....incredible

Do they mess them up on purpose....unbelievable how they took a nice looking iron and just f$#% it up for public...they will be giving these away in 6-12months....sure they feel good but golfers like to look at their irons as well

Actually, the more I see them, the more I like them. I've seen some mocks with different color swoosh symbols, and it completely changed the impression of the iron. Saw one with a grayish swoosh, and it looked awesome.

They Did! It's the exact same shape! I just have no idea why everyone is so uptight about black PVD on a Nike Iron. While they love the Extremely busy look of AP2's/AP1's, Callaway Apex Pro, and Mizuno JPX irons.

in my understanding, the short irons (pw-8) in the PC are the same as the Blades or do they differ (besides the 1° stronger loft)?

The PC short irons are pocket cavities.

But you can always order the blades in their place

I compare the aesthetics of the outside of an iron more to the outside, body or color of the car not the undercarriage.

The exterior, body, and color of the car are the face,grooves, topline, shape, toe box, etc of the iron. It's what you see when you're addressing the ball. The undercarriage is the back or the cavity. It holds important parts and technology, but you cant see it at address or when you're driving.
