Anyone Golf Ball hunt?

I wouldn’t call it “hunting” but I’m opportunistic. I’ll pick it up if I see in in process of looking for my own ball. I won’t use a found ball for a round but I keep a few on me for when I make a bad swing. I’ll hit another shot with the found ball and I don’t feel the need to go find it.

ughhhhhh the ONLY downside to fall golf. You always hear about these courses that are so beautiful in fall but all i think about is my ball landing under a leaf and never being found.

This is why I play cheaper balls in spring/fall. I just did a bulk order of Q Star Tours at $10/dz so I don’t get pissed every time I lose a plugged ball in the fairway

Secret . You will find more balls on the right side of the hole than the left for sure . However more quality balls on the left .

I found a hole that is fenced the hole right side of hole where golfers can get to but I can access. I find two plus dozen it minutes . It’s great. Use bad ones for range balls and good ones as keepers .

Same thing happened to me last week. I hit a low fade that skirted the woods and ended up in the fairway. I had no idea how much it rolled since I hit it so low. As I was looking for it one of my playing partners told me "there's yours". I turn around and I am literally standing about five feet past it.

I used to up until this year. I would walk the course after a round and look for balls. My course is littered with hazards and there are a lot to be found. One day I found 220 balls. I keep the premium balls and give the others to a kids organization. At 65 though, I am a bit tired of dealing with briars, brambles, and what not. I have around 45 dozen ProV's so it's not like I need to actively look anymore.

I don't go looking for balls, but if I hit one OB / in the woods...I admit that I really do enjoy finding balls. It is like finding Easter Eggs. When I see 3-4-5 balls in an area, it gets exciting. Then exciting again when I hopefully find a premium ball (which does not happen often).

I mostly avoid going into the woods due to poison ivy, snakes/critters, chance of getting muddy, pricker bushes or twisting an ankle.

Love to go to the first hole of my local course, 200 yards out to the right and over a small ravine. While playing no one wants to jump the ravine and they leave it there. Just show up when not playing on the other side and there are plenty of Pro V's a waiting. I still prefer my favorite balls and will buy them. If one was cheap, they'd never had to buy another ball in their life.

Whenever I hit one into the trees or hazard I'll pay extra attention for balls that I can pick up along the way. I had a buddy that would spend 3-4 minutes searching inside the hazards....really annoying. We called him out one day and he made an effort to only search an extra minute or two. I just hit them back into the range after I finish my small bucket. I like the feel of hitting real balls on the range even if it is a top flite or a nitro.

I don't lose a lot of balls but scaled 1 to 10 in effort to find a ball I'm a solid 2. Mostly because my time is not worth the $2 lost ball. I don't mean it to sound smug, its more that if losing $2 was such a concern I should have hit it better. Also I probably made some guy's day when he finds it just off the fairway and decided to play it or take I t home and add to a collection. Ive even left balls laying there that are visible from the fairway if I don't want to walk through mud or plow through sticks. A pack of balls lasts for a very long time and I consider balls just the cost of playing golf. So not worth it to hunt for them IMHO.

I have accumulated over 50,000 golf balls over the past 12 years or so.  No joke, I've found approximately 10,000 the last two months.

I sold 26,000 to a company that refurbishes them and then sells them online but honestly i got ripped off.

Now i sell on Ebay

Here are a few pics I have:

WOW, this is awesome. Just curious, do you have any info on how much you found of each brand etc? Also, how much do these refurbishing places pay for balls and what kinds do they buy? Don't blame you for going the eBay route!
