could a 50* engage be bent -2* to a 48* without issue?

Yeah it could be. That is what Nike Golf (back when they had dedicated CS team) recommended I do when I asked about ordering a 46* way back when.

But you are taking away 2* of bounce when you do that.

Went into my local shop today to look around and stumbled upon a 9.5/10 56 Engage for $40... I've never hit one before... but I've seen them around here quite a bit... I picked and up and found they had 4 more brand new in wrapper... so if it works out I'll be buying those also

My store has a barely used Engage in raw finish, pretty rusty but AMAZING condition. Tempted to grab it for the medium price range..

If your'e in need of a wedge, I'd pick it up. They were all made in a raw finish, and it's not too hard to remove rust if you want to. Some off it should just come off with normal use from hitting the ball. They're still high on most people's list for a good wedge.

I don't NEED a wedge, it's a 60* and I have a 58* RTX3 that I just got. But I am a sucker for anything golf related with a swoosh on it..

I'd go for it, they are awesome Wedges. I managed to spin a range ball back off the roof of a Volvo earlier with my 54. They are deadly accurate.

Very quick question folks - does anyone know if the Vapor Fly Fairway Wood adapters were the same across all woods?

Reason I ask is I have found a Whiteboard 70X to put in my 3 wood but we are struggling to find an adapter - I do have a VF 5 Wood I never use so would be prepared to sacrifice for now to get less spin off my 3 wood.

(Went on Trackman last night, 3 Wood spin was ridiculous. Driver with the 757X was around 2500 rpm, the 3 wood was peaking over 5000......)

That's negative. Vapor Fly woods used what they call FlexLoft 2 adapter which wasn't used on any thing other than Vapor Fly woods. A while ago, shortly after Nike quit the club business, I DM'd Nike on Tweeter asking about the adapter and they were nice enough to send me one. Nowadays It is nearly impossible to find them. Many have resorted to buying cheap lady flex shafts on ebay just for the adapter. Another thing to consider is that the loft is actually printed on the adapter.. It was a very silly thing to do.

Ah apologies if I wasn't clear, both are Vapor Fly fairways, just one is a 3 the other is a 5. I am less bothered about the lofts matching up as I don't tend to adjust them anyway - thanks to the grips not lining up after you do that, thanks Nike - just want to attached the shaft to the club and leave it.

I have found one on eBay UK, and have my club looking for me (they are an ex Nike supplier), but sadly due to me being a bit keen for advice I think I have 2 shafts on the way, a Whiteboard 70X and something else the pro at my club has found (think it's an X-Stiff Blueboard).

So a Vapor adapter won't fit on the Vapor Fly head?

The Vapor and Vapor Fly adaptors are different and you can't swap shafts. This is what they look like with their respective heads. Hope that helps!

The adapter on the left works for ALL recent Nike products (Vapor Hybrid, Vapor speed/Fly Driver, Vapor Wood, Covert, etc) EXCEPT the Vapor Fly woods.

The fitter I had looking into it has found a Mitsubishi Javelin 70g in X Flex, so we're going to see how that goes. I've dropped my 5 Wood off with him, he's going to swap the shafts over for me. I will probably get that and the Whiteboard, then one can go in the 3 wood, the other can go in my 5 Wood to create a FrankenFourWood :)

Exciting times :D

Oh yeah then you are fine. It's just if you ever wanted to get more adapters you have to pay attention which adapter you are getting. There are a ton of FlexLoft (some call them 2.0) but hardly ever any real FlexLoft 2 for these fly woods.

And I stand corrected about the loft being printed on the adapter. That's actually on the original FlexLoft, not on the new one.

Got these two Engage wedge's for a steal on the bay... The 60 toe sweep is brand new, just super rusty... the 56 is also brand new (maybe hit 2 times) not as rusty!

How can I make these almost rust free? Steel wool? Certain chemicals?

dallas golf has 3 and 5 tour issue heads for sale and a couple sets of VFP 3-PW for 650. wood heads are 110, good deal on the heads?

I think $110 is a pretty good deal on the Vapor fwy heads - especially since they have a lot of spec options to choose from. I am on the fence about picking one up. I already have a VF in the bag and a backup for it, but I may have to pull the trigger.

Pick up a jug of CLR from walmart. Pour it in a big cup or something that you can fit the whole head into. Let the wedges sit in there for about 10 min (may not take that long) and then pull them out and you can clean them off while running water over the head in the sink with just a paper towel or a scotch brite pad if the paper towel isn't cutting it. They'll be a uniform raw finish again. You can repeat this process anytime you want to even them out again. CLR is not a harsh chemical, so you don't have to worry about it damaging anything. It is just a standard bathroom cleaner that does a great job of removing rust (and other non-plated finishes) from golf clubs.

So it would take off all the paint fill too, eh?

Looks like more painting for me!

No it does not affect the paint. I have used this method probably 10 times on Engage wedges - never had a problem with the paint fill coming off.
