Both Tiger and Rory had switched putters before making the switch to the Method, although Tiger not as much as Rory. But I agree, I don't think anyone thought Tiger would have switched from his Scotty after all his major wins. It was certainly a rough transition and I don't think there are too many people who would say it was the right move. Something to be learned there.

I think the TW switch was a wrong one myself. TW is still the greatest putter I have ever seen; with a Scotty in his hand.

RORS has the same amount of majors with his method as he did with the 009.

Some are able to switch. Some aren't.

At least from what I have read here, most of who got a 006 are putting better than with their previous gamer. So it seems that we were able to switch as well

Are there any owners of the original Method 001 that also have a Rors 006 that can comment on the feel on both putters?

Is the feel the same? I recently picked up a Method 001 and the feel to me is amazing. If the Rors 006 feels the same, I may have to try and grab one.

[/quote]I found a pretty major difference. The 001 is much clickier than the Rors, at least to my ears. The Rors is also much heavier in the head. Both roll the ball really well.

TW WAS the greatest putter you've ever seen. Not IS. Can't remember the last time TW made a putt that meant anything, but certainly no one can blame his current playing ability on the putter! Not even a Cameron can help that game.

Did you by any chance have the putter fit to you? I originally felt that the putter didn't feel that great but then I got my hands on one that was bent to a lie angle of 69* and it is one of the best feeling putters I have ever putted with.

I don't remember if it was fitted. I got it at a golf course pro shop and I was pretty drunk at the time (this was post-round). Probably not the best way to select high end golf equipment.

I personally believe they will release a mass produced Method 006. They will not release any more of the Oven Prototypes because that was a limited release, but I feel they will release the same exact putter without the premium headcover and oven markings on the putter. Nike would honestly be foolish not to from a business standpoint. I know a lot of people on here may disagree or be upset about this, but this is my view and it is based solely on a business perspective.

If Nike were more of a major player in the golf market I'd agree with you, but when they released the Method Matters with the same general head shape, I could see Nike sticking with that knowing full well they'll sell more of those with a $129 price tag then they will of a milled 006 at a $299 price tag.

Part of the demand and excitement for the 006 was the initial limited release, and if you take that away and make it a standard offering I don't know if that same demand would be there to buy it. Personally I'd love it if they did release the 006 as a standard offering (although I'd personally prefer an adjustable weight version) but I don't know if they'll make enough money doing that.

The one thing it has going for it is aside from the 001 Nike doesn't really have any other milled putters that appeal to someone who likes the traditional Anser head.

I get that they have to do something "different" every year but let that happen at the lower price points where you have to compete with odyssey.

Why not a 006 and 001 next year with a dark finish? The method tech is a differentiator alone without needing that much more.

Again why an Oven ID is the way to go.

They don't need to reinvent the wheel every year but keep alive the most successful models with some cosmetics changes. But the business model seems to be similar to apparel business by creating something cooler that creates the need of buying especially on ho's
