I havent had lessons in over 15 years and ive fought the same snap hook miss the last 10 so i think its time i start getting some professional help

im really open to whomever communicates the best

i like video but im also okay with a golf whisperer just whispering sweet somethings in my ear

DT - Try Parker Parsons at LP/TV. He gave me a lesson for free at LP when I was there for the Callaway Demo Day presented by Tex. Parker was nice and chill and explained things clearly. He also didn't try to do too much at one time, more like building on each new thing in order and at the end it all fit together.

It was informal so video consisted of him recording me on his iPhone, but I think technology would only add to his style not take away from it

Thanks Terp

Does anyone know if the guys who do work at LP and also at Turf valley have the same equipment at Turf Valley? Or do they encourage you to come down to LP?

Damon Lucas is who im really thinking about that i know works out of both locations

I took lessons from Damon at TV without being a member. I don't think they care if you take lessons at TV or LP. They have a flightscope and video at TV.

I definitely recommend him and he helped me tremendously with my hook. (GTT: FADE. FADE. FADE.) I'm not sure I can really speak to his style because I very specifically said "I have about ten thousand things I worry about. I want to know the ONE thing that I need to be working on." So he gave me one thing.

thoughts about Jim Estes at Olney golf park as an instructor?

Used to work at OGP, but never took lessons from Jim. Have seen him giving lessons and have heard reviews.

All good things. Uses video. Not sure if they have flight tracking software in there now.

Thanks Terp

I take lessons from Damon. He has the same set up at Turf as he does at LP. Flightscope, own shed with indoor practice area for inclement days. I can't say enough good things about Damon. My only critique is that he doesn't use a lot of video after the first lesson.

But whatever it is, his instruction clicks with me and it sticks. Terps said it. He really doesn't try to change your swing to the textbook unless you have a fundamental flaw like I had (I kept stopping my lower body and flicked/casted/threw the club at everything). He gives me input to get into the most optimal position for effective ball striking. Just tell him David sent you over.

Now if I could only execute when it really matters....

That's it, y'all don't have to feel sorry for me. Slow pace sucked but got back to the truck at 3:14. 3:14 walking is not bad...stuck behind a 4 some and a 3 some of ladies. It's not 2:30 waking but meh.

Nice bounce back round. 37-42=79.

Would love to take back a few dumb decisions/swings , which could of drop the score a few strokes but that's golf.

It's beats a 92.

Two birdies and all of my bogeys/doubles were tapins. So just an overall good round for me.

You misunderstood. I was Ray Jackson. I know exactly who THDC is in our little Bloodsport universe. Bloodsport is one of my all time favorite movies and Bolo Yeung is so f*****g boss.

Though even Chong Li would envy THDC's calf definition.

Looking at a new TM UDI 2i on ebay. Here is the description:The item up for auction is a Brand New Taylormade Tour Preferred UDI 18* 2 Iron Hybrid. The club has a factory installed KBS Tour C-Taper Lite 110 Stiff flex Steel shaft and has a Taylormade grip. I've been wanting a 2i for some time now but just haven't been able to find the right fit. This may be it.

I know some of you have this club or have hit it. what is a reasonable price to pay? auction is at $74 now and ends in 3 hours.

You got moar pictures, Puppet? We're opening a long weekend in Pinehurst this fall with a round at Tobacco Road. I'm really looking forward to it. Everything I've heard about it points to being a unique golf experience.

DC2 said the same thing about TR. Visually intimidating but it turns out the fairways are all pretty accessible. Definitely on my play list that next time I'm down.

More pictures.

1st tee and fairway:

Play is to drive over the left hump, leaving yourself inside 250, and to carry another waste area about 100 yards out from the green.

27785992883_dc2c79962a_b.jpg

28323039571_f0d458d34e_b.jpg

5th tee:

Lay up to the right fairway, or go straight over the junk to the green. I hit it short and left the first time, but drove the green the second time. Lasered 279 to the flag, hit a high cut with a sight tail wind that carried on and held.

27785986643_31d7526d38_b.jpg

6th hole:

Short par 3, skinny green. I hit the green both times but 3-putted it once for no good reason.

28297305702_a1fc880795_b.jpg

Infamous 9th green:

28297300712_99affd9868_b.jpg

Play is drive right center in fairway, leaving yourself inside 150 yards in to the extremely elevated and skinny green. Doubled it the first time, hit driver-PW the second but still 3-putted.

Par 5 11th

Wide open fairway with waste area on the right. I went too far left the first time and made a mess of the hole, drove into the waste area the second time, and found the green with a 7-iron from 160, two putt birdie. The second shot has to carry the "wall" or you're dead.

28297294102_e0e5f6720a_b.jpg

28297258252_64b08bc293_b.jpg

Par 5 13th

Short par 5 but you either layup off the tee, or take it blind over the trees right to a huge fairway. From there, you're inside 200 yards, but this is another distinctive TR hole with a shallow green guarded by native grasses and the mounds/bunkers on either side. A prime example of having to hit a high, quick stopping iron shot the right distance. Played this bogey, par, the second time overclubbing into the junk, but gouging it out and 2-putting for par. Second pic shows front (left side of pic) to back length of the green.

28297288882_0c4a7ac6e1_b.jpg

28119032700_84636113dc_b.jpg

18th tee, another frequently photographed spot. The wall is only 180ish to carry, but again, it's more of a mind trick than anything. Left center makes the hole 20 yards shorter, but right center gives a better line into the green. I hit it right both times, and both times found the green, the second a perfect choked down 6-iron to 8 feet, but couldn't make the birdie.

One more thing about TR. Local rule is all waste areas are not bunkers, AND you may lift your ball to improve your lie. No rakes or raking. I think I like the concept actually. I only had to move a large stone once, all other times my lie was pretty good in the waste area. Very playable sand too.

Take the domes deal. Although that price sounds reasonable.

I liked the UDI but didn't like the C-Taper Lite. The one I had flew a bit lower than my Fli Hi when it had a C-Taper 130 in it. You hit the ball plenty high though so it shouldn't be a problem for you.

So the main guy in The Night Of is also going to be in Rogue One? Hmm.

So's Ben Mendelsohn, who is great in Bloodline.

I watched it Sunday and didn't get into it, but we'd been socializing and drinking and I was tired.

Watched it again and loved it. Box's performance is blowing me away. Naz is a pretty interesting guy. Apparently is a hip-hop artist (Riz MC).

You MIGHT like the Beach Boys movie "Love & Mercy". Box is the father in it, and is great.

The mom. . .

So, you can lift your ball, and smooth things out, remove impediments, but can't move it? Like if it's behind a bush, or long grass, you can't get relief?

I guess I don't totally hate that. Wonder if that was always the policy, or if they got too many complaints about sticks and stones. It is a "resort course" after all.

Some of those lines off the tee (cliff faces, blind shots over mounds, etc) you saw at Troon last weekend. Classic elements.
