How are the Vapor Pro irons treating you? I had a chance to demo them while I was in Florida a few weeks back and was impressed with them.

 

Vapor Fly Pro? Honestly I am looking for a reason NOT to like them. So far the only thing I come up with is Nike custom department didn't build them to the exact specs I need them at and still trying to get that resolved. They don't bend for crap and will bend right back if moved. The stronger lofts allowed me to pick up a full club. I backed up a 7 iron from 185 yards today so they spin well. And spin on my 7 iron is 7000-7300 so right in line. So a few minor issues that I am working out. They look pretty boring in the bag aesthetically but look great at address. All in all they flat out perform well for me.

Yeah, I meant Vapor Fly Pro, sorry about that, long day yesterday. It's disappointing you can't bend them, but I can adjust to the stronger lofts. Can't wait to test them more, just waiting for the weather to get a little warmer in Ohio. I've found that sometimes when I test clubs in colder weather, I get different results when it warms up. Backing up a 7 iron from 185, that's awesome!!

 

It isn't actually the stronger lofts that I am worried about, its the lie angles. Nike said they will fix the issue, I have to send them back into the customs department. But then that means I won't have any irons for 3 weeks or so...but I have a solution

Interested to see how you like the PSi's compared to the Vapor Fly Pro irons. I was surprised by the VFP's in person, very cool looking club and better looking than I had expected. The PSi's feel great with really good ballspeed numbers.

Yup, they are not a replacement for them. Fly-Z is on a 2 year cycle, and is now starting that 2nd year. Tec is part of the separate King lineup

Wayyy more forgiving than your Kings. Also I don't like the shape of the Kings, despite them being small, I don't like how the topline is so square. I like it beveled so it looks smaller. Also prefer longer heel-to-toe

I was going to try the M1 460 but figured what why not. I have zero idea how this combo will work. Impulse order. :)

After playing the VFP every iron looks small!

The top lines on the VFP look really good! I loved the RSI TPs and am looking forward to comparing these as well.

In contacts with Nike regarding the lofts and lies on the Fly Pro irons. Finally had a chance to double check them. They are off on some of the clubs which is a bummer because when I order custom, they should be spot on. It wouldn't be a big deal if these were bendable but these things don't move at all! The left side is the current specs and the right side is what they should be at. Good news is they are D2 which isn't too bad.

 

4 iron 22* loft, 59* lie (21* loft, 58* lie)

5 iron 24.5* loft, 60 lie (24* loft, 59* lie)

6 iron 28* loft, 60.5 lie ( loft is ok, 60* lie)

7 iron 32* loft, 60.5 lie

8 iron 36* loft, 61.5 lie

9 iron 40* loft, 62* lie (61.5* lie)

PW 44* loft, 61* lie (45* loft, 62 lie)

 

Kind of a bit all over. I even ordered the PW 1* weak and its the standard loft.

 

You should be able to move loft and or lie +/- 2 degrees.

 

Don't feel bad about them being a bit strong. I measured a TM M2 4 and 7 iron yesterday. Loft on the 4 was 19 degrees and the 7 iron was 28 degrees...........LOL.

 

Nope these don't move. They almost snapped. Even Nike only allows 1* movement in customs. They are on to something though. If they make the next version of Pro Combo a little larger and closer to these and forged... Take my money now!!!

 

Well, Nike Custom should be able to move your Vapor Fly Pro irons to your requested specs.

 

This morning I took a stock Fly Pro 5i and moved the lie to 59 and loft to 23.25. You just need to make sure you have a loft/lie machine that has a very secure clamping system and a bending bar that you can get some leverage with.........then lean it......LOL. I checked the hosel for kinks/stress marks and did not find any. Actually the hosel looks better than some of the forged irons I've bent before.

 

I've reshafted the modified 5i; this is going to be my new 4i which will trade spots in the bag with my 4 hybrid. A 4i at 21 degrees doesn't play very well for me.........just don't have enough ball speed anymore.

Thanks. You have me thinking of trying to bend them again locally. Now issues of them bending right back to original?

how did the M2 perform? For some reason I really like the look but not a lot of reviews. From a couple of swings it sounded and felt as good as the LTD (and similar numbers on the monitor).

It cost me some strokes. I shot 76 from the tips at Kierland in AZ with two drives OB. The combo I have was really low launching and low spin. And dispersion was all over the face for me. I took me a while to find the right transition for this shaft. Head sets up nice but I find the LTD/HZRDUS combo to stay in the air longer with a higher launch. I am giving it to my buddy to try out and if not its headed to BST. Just not for me. My last drive went 330 which was the best drive of the day. Swings felt good just results showed otherwise. Just too low launching and not enough spin for me. Which I thought it would be the opposite! The PSI irons though are straight legit. Really impressed with these, flight, spin and accuracy was all there with these especially for first time swinging them.

Yeah she was full of positive energy even after a full day of practicing on the range. She was testing the Vapor Fly Pro irons. First time I've ever approached a player as a fan asking for requests but my buddy knows her so I took advantage of the opportunity lol. Sweet girl. VFP irons are just getting tweaked. They will be back in the bag.

Changed my mind on them when I got the PSI. I'm pretty content with the VFP. Might try the Flex soon after I reshaft the Fly I have
