Not that it has anything to do with the irons. It has to do with me. I'm at the point where I want to play the best gear that will get me shooting in the 60s. Trying to get to that next level. So when it comes to long irons I'm wondering if I should stay in the AP2 or go T-MB. I picked the CB based off the trajectory of the long irons coming into the greens vs AP2. These seem to launch higher with a little more spin on paper. Need to see it on course. I can't wait to get them

I love the legacy ones. Plus they are cheaper too vs some of the others lol

My fitter has a TMB and the AP2 and he was very impressed with the TMB. He was trying to convince me that if I wanted to make a TMB/CB would be the way to go. He has the TMB in his long irons now and he thinks they are really good. I have only hit the CBs so at this point I can only take his word on it. Between my S55s and the CBs, I am sticking with mine. Too similar to justify a change at this point. Can't wait to hear what you think about the CBs though.

Depending how I like the CBs I might mess around with a 3iron T-MB vs my 915HD. Maybe throw a tour AD-Di in it like my hybrid. Looking for highest flight / softest landing.

It's interesting that the CBs seem to be the best option for at least the few I've heard have tested the 716 line...I didn't try the AP1, but the CB was the only one I could [i]not[/i] get to work. Granted I wasn't getting fit or anything, but I personally found both the MB and AP2 to be very good and the T-MB to be effectively identical to the 712U. That is to say the feel is similar, and compared to my 915Hd the distance is pretty close loft-for-loft but with a noticeable lower ball flight and slight fade bias.

Very interested in your impressions after you get some time with those. The set I tried, with DG TI s400 hs x 1, were very good, almost like a forged version of DCI 990.

Callaway X2 Hot...but it was too hot! Went too far. I'm big on looks. The only hybrid I liked before that was the old TM Raylor.
