I absolutely love my S55's, but I'm going to try these for sure. I could care less about the blue part because, unless something goes horribly wrong, I shouldn't have to look at that part of the club while I'm hitting it.

I think they look nice and clean, if the cavity is all metal I think a little paint stripping will be in order. I will def be hitting these along with some other irons when I go to purchase my next set of irons in a month or two.

They are very similar. I wouldn't be surprised if they are the same. The topline "appears" to be slightly slimmer or maybe just looks that way because the Ping rep told me they were moving it towards an s55 type look.

Have to be careful about falling victim to the shiny penny syndrome but I do think they are an improvement over i25s -- it just looks classier. Feels more "sturdy" if that makes sense.

I hit four 7 irons without a warmup and they never left the 150 flag. Then hit about 5-6 with my old i5 7 iron (same shaft) and it definitely felt 'clunkier' and they had my 3yrd baby fade back. Hit about 10 more with the new one and they never left the flag again. Tungsten toe?

BTW, I never once saw the blue stripe while I was striping it....

I think I remember the rep saying they are slightly longer heel to toe. Don't quote me on that though.....I was basking in the exciting glow of newness and only half listening to him. I remember the feeling of 'better'. The metal looks to be of higher quality.

These are like a BMW 335i with M package vs the BMW 328i (i25) if that makes sense. S55 being their "M3".

Just saw the 7 iron. Don't know why I was expecting a more compact version of the i25. That they are not, more of a very similar replacement. Sole looked similar to i25, and looked slighty longer heel to toe. I did not hit it, so I cannot comment on that. I did hit the S55 again and it's legit. The iE1 is probably a great iron, just not what I am looking for.

PING has decided to make the stock shaft .25" longer as stnaderd to be with the industry standard for modern players irons.

PING has also decided the stock set is now Blue color code, as this is also moving more closer to industry standard. Lie angels stay the same, but rack sets will be blue dot.

Hit them with CFS X Stiff and Modus 105 Stiff. Modus felt really great. Haven't seen the 105 before but I really liked it. Chose the Modus 105 stiff hard stepped once.

Head looks great. Looks small from address than the i25, which I have played for the last 18 months. Sole is slightly thinner, but this may just be the grind on it though.

The finish looks GREAT! the face of the club is nice and slightly darker then the rest of the club and looks wonderful.

There's blue on it!!! Get over it...

8 club set it $999.

That's about it I think. I did not take pictures out of respect for the shop. Pre orders go in around the 20th of this month and sets are arriving the 31st of July.

How do the Modus shafts compare to KBS?

Well, I was a bit worried it would be similar to the 950, which is a great shaft, but not for me. I love lighter weight shafts and this one is great. My 7 iron swing speed is 89-91 MPH and a 4HCP. Average spin was 6800 with the modus stiff straight in. It flighted a little lower and a bit nicer than the CFS Xstiff. I feel the CFS is quite a bit softer than the flex indicates.

My experience with KBS is Tour X in 714 AP2, and some Tour V Stiff in some Apex Pro heads. The Modus seems much smoother and a little less demanding. This is almost definitely due to the lighter weight I'm sure.

I read earlier (maybe in this post) that it's a prototype shaft made for Ping? Might not be on website.
