After messing about with adding loft (closing face, yuck) and changing the front/back slider I've settled back on standard loft (9.5) and both sliders in the default position, seems to work best for me.

I will try a 10.5 head when my rep has a spare he can let my try but I was blowing it 20 yards past my regular playing partner yesterday and we are normally pretty similar off the tee.

Was windy yesterday, the performance when straight into the wind especially is great.

I currently live in Santiago, Chile and I will be in the states for thanksgiving weekend (4 days). About 5 months ago I was fitted at the Tm Performance lab for a 10.5 R15 with the Speeder 757 shaft. My question is would it be foolish to order the M1 with the same specs 10.5 and shaft? I see a lot of delays in shipping and don't think I would have time to get fit, and have the club shipped in time.

FYI the speeder 757 stiff is on the discounted list as of 11/16. Only the stiff is listed along with the 661.

I don't think I am launching this as high as the 'optimum' would be, hence my desire to try a 10.5 head - nb no numbers to back this up, just the look of the shot.

I can only assume that this slightly lower ball flight when combined with the low spin is the ideal into the wind trajectory.

I switched from a 430 SLDR and the 460 M1 cuts much better into the wind. Might be the rogue black shaft in the M1 vs the DI6 I had in the Sldr which was the best shaft I used in that head

Anyone noticing the ball going more right when moving the weight from low to high?

As I've been trying a few shafts with the M1 I have noticed as the high/low weight moves from low to neutral to high it becomes nearly impossible to turn over. Sure it goes higher but also goes way more right. For me the high/low setting is having more of an effect with left/right tendencies then the actual left/right slider.

...set it to low, then up the loft...not only does it close the face but, will spin less.

When adjusting the shaft, it opens/closes the face (depending on shaft setting you use). So with that said, my question is: I grip my club with the club straight out in front of me with the toe pointing straight up in the air ( I do this to grip it so I can see that the top line is straight up and down for gripping it with a square face). If I keep it gripped like that when I address the ball, is the shaft setting change going to still have effect on an open or closed face, or is that only if you rest the club on the ground and then grip the club?

Has anyone tried swapping the weights underneath the sliding track?

Can you use say both back weights underneath the respective sliding tracks and not have any issues?

Instead of grinding for 5g, that could be an option.
[/quote]

I put both weights in the vertical track and love it.

How did this change from the stock set up. Would there be any issues if you took out all the weights and just played with empty sliders?

Closing the face and adding loft will increase the spin.

Probably has to do with the center of gravity changing. Possibly more weight located away from the face is making the head more stable.

Pulling out both weights and playing empty sliders would make the head extremely light.

throwing the weight all the way forward negates that. you're talking marginally here...so am i.

SLDR heads were heavier so I would say the M1 would be unplayable. Probably head weight just north of 170 grams without weights, way too light in my opinion.

I measured 4 heads, all different lofts but in 460, and all came in at 199g with the weights installed. Factory SW with the different shafts were D2 at 45" so at factory length should be close to D3/4.

I have my shaft cut to 44.5" so it is weighing around C7 right now. Curious about the best way to get it back to D2ish...

I have heard the port is close to the stated loft near the heel, but I've also heard that when hot melting the head that the hot melt needs to be near the face and not on the composite. I'm not a builder so I'm unsure as to why.

As an alternative, there are heavier weight options around page 77 that are currently back-ordered, as I needed to get the lighter option as my OG whiteboard put my build at D7 at 45". Temporary solution I sourced another vertical track weight and placed it in the front sliding track instead of the standard weight. Now D3.5

That's awesome! I think I am going to put some lead tape on it and dial in the weight until I can get a heavier sliding weight. Thanks

1) heavier weight.....when and if they ever actually come out
2) lead tape
3) hot melt....port is ready for your fav club builder to have at it
4) lighter grip
5) counterbalance shaft
6) a combination of all of the above.

Just checked a demo 430 head that I have on hand with a MJ6 in at playing to 45" with a GP Tour Velvet 360 grip

D-2 319 grams with a balancing point of 33.40"
