The most important thing is to get gel heel cup inserts to relieve your pain. It's not necessarily the shoe that will make a difference. Something like this should work:

Taylormade SIM2 Max | Srixon Z-Star | Cleveland Launcher DST | Mizuno JPX-825 Pro | Titleist Vokey SM5 (54S, 58K) | SC Studio Select Newport 2

Thanks. I went to a sporting goods store, and tried some heel cups, but needed more support than they provided. I ended up getting green Superfeet insoles. I'll try them tomorrow.
Very interested in how the Superfeet work for you... What colour are they? What model shoe did you put them in... thanks and hope they worked out for you.

I have suffered from plantar fasciitis as well. My Footjoy DNAs have been great for me. They are more supportive than the TW 13 I used to play. That being said, shoes will only help so much- to actual get over it, rest, and do your exercises + stretching. For what it's worth, using a golf ball from the freezer to roll on the bottom of your foot actually helps a lot:)

Have been going through this as well. Any avid runners will probably know more than me, but from what I was told at the New Balance store, the stability/flexibility of the shoe wouldn't necessarily affect your plantar fasciitis. Stretching, rolling on a frozen water bottle (or golf ball as mentioned above), and proper arch support are going to be the keys. I was given some inserts that have special arch support, and they have helped a lot. I also make sure I wear something with good cushioning at all times (no more Sperry's or flip flops for awhile).

The arch support has been really helpful for me. There are several articles out there that explain what the support does for the plantar fascia tissue. I have used the heel cups too, and they definitely relieve the pain. But they won't cure the actual cause of the pain like stretching will do. The stretching is an absolute must.

So choose a shoe that has good cushioning and arch support. If you pronate also, then you probably want a more stable shoe rather than a flexible one.

Hope that helps. It's not fun dealing with that pain.
I got the green model. I am going to try them tomorrow in either a Nike Lunar Control 2 or Skecher Go Golf Pro. I have been wearing them around today, and they seem to help. They feel very similar to the feeling I get when I have tried on the DNA. The salesman said they would take some getting used to, and not to wear them full time at first. I will post something after playing.

I was an avid runner and had this several times. Go see a podiatrist. I went through the shots and finally gave in and got the custom inserts he fit me for. They were expensive but it's been several years and I haven't had any problems. They were worth the money.

Quick question for you guys with pf. Do amy of you take Lipitor or any statin for high cholesterol? I suffered through pf for 9 months until another member on here, thanks ngb432, told me about the possible correlation. Just one month after starting Lipitor the pf started. After consulting my doctor I quit the drug and pf went away within a couple weeks. Unbelievable difference. Just a thought to check out for some of you. Not suggesting you do this on your own, check with your doctor. Oh, and Google Lipitor and pf. You'll find it is not just you.

I used the Superfeet Green insole in Nike Lunar Control 2 this morning, and, although not totally pain free, I was able to walk nine holes with minimal discomfort. I was very skeptical about these insoles, and I thought salespeople recommended these just to pad their sales, but they did make a difference.
Superfeet also sell their product on better balance through proper alignment... any thoughts on your balance... did it seem odd or did the swing feel better than normal? just curious if its just hype or is there something to it... thanks.
