Figured I would add these because they are 2 of my favorite pictures.

This is our lake in northern Michigan during the fall early morning. The colors are amazing when the leaves start to change up there. My grandpa built a cabin on this lake back in the 50's from the ground up with his bare hands and my family have been going up there ever since. Now as the family grew we have 4 cabins on the lake but this picture is so cool.

This is a candid picture of me taking a sip out of the trophy I won in the bass tournament there this memorial weekend. My family started a memorial tournament back in 1975 and have kept it going ever since. Now it is in remembrance of my grandpa. This year was my 3rd win (my first year fishing in it was 2008 so I have a pretty decent track record). Most wins recorded is 5 held by nine other than my dad but he is one of the originals so he has a few more years in it than I do ;)

My dad with an absolute brute

Holy sh!t thunder. You sir, are a fisherman. Your account of the fight with the 8 lb smally made me feel like I was there. I love catching smallies, although here in Jersey, getting a 2 pounder on 4 lb test is considered a real contest! Pound for pound they are one of the hardest fighting fish around.

Edit: wait a second, and your a +3 cap??? Proof that life is not fair..

Digging this one out of the dirt. We went for spring white perch at a local river, known spot. We were fishing from the bank, and about 60 yd beyond our farthest casts out in the channel a few boats and a kayaker were reeling them in one after another, a couple stripers in the mix.

Needless to say today I put my kayak rack on, will get out this coming week.

Shucks, nada. I never targeted white perch before except for tossing spinners in creeks during the summer for giggles, and they were never shy. But this river was kind of big water and we went out in kayaks armed with bloodworms, which are supposed to be lights out. We got skunked. As an excuse, the day before it poured and it was windy today which made the water muddy. It was nice to be out on the water though..

Went up into the mountains and finally caught. All rainbows with one brookie that looked like a piece of jewelry, just omg beautiful. Between 3 of us, we cleared 15 in two days of creek hunting. Our buddy, a relative novice, caught his first 'bow. I'm still waiting for fish pics from my bud, but here's some eye candy from the surrounding country in the meantime..

Those are lovely marked fish and in good condition - I caught several that size in Nov and good sport on light tackle. When I saw the 10lb fish come up below my fly I just about called for a pair of brown trousers. For really big rainbows you have to go and fish the Lake Pukaki hydro canal in New Zealand's South Island. I have fished there but only caught average size browns up to 3lb. I have heard of 30lb+ rainbows being caught in the canal - the size due to Salmon farms (and feed pellets) on the water.

Love the way the dog is basically saying 'mine'!

Looks like a Weimaraner Silver Ghost

Never had one but I love weimaraners. Our family met a puppy in a park once. His owner let us frolick with him. What a wonderful goober. All wet kisses and soft mouth grabs and rolling on his back for tummy rubs.

That's correct. That's Marley, my 11 year old weimy. That picture is a few years old but he's still as goofy as ever. He's an 80lb lap dog for sure.

Good guess - all I could see was the nose !. I'm a fan of hunting dogs.

So this weekend was basically my first weekend of fishing in my adult life (28 year old).

Went to the lake with the wife and family. Family friend has a boat and I stayed out on the boat fishing ALL weekend. Had a dang blast. Caught one small brim and it almost ripped my hand with the top fin.

Finally found something I can do and keep the wife happy as she loves going to the campground with her family.

Gonna hit up some creek fishing here within the next week or two until I can get back to the lake and try to find some bass! Always heard they are fun to catch

Fishing and golf are the two damned best hobbies ever. The fishing is like entering another world and getting away. It's addictive and you get one fish that gives you a fight or that jumps off, doesn't matter how big, you're hooked and the chase is on.

Sorta like golf haha

Forever Changing at this point.......
