What did it look like before?

He has a swing thread on here, if you want to see his before. Also, has some older ones on youtube.

He had a very strong foundation to begin with. I was expecting something more drastic with how people were posting on about 'only after one lesson?'

Heath has always had a good swing. The backswing may be similar but very different on the downswing IMO.

It is a big change, and a great move. But Heath is a really good athlete. He played college ball etc. Your average guy shouldn't be comparing himself to Heath.

It's an awesome swing. One of the best I've seen on here.

I agree would be nice to see a before and after. Also, is the eyes off the ball, david duval, type release part of it? Dont believe Heath did that before.

If only someone wouldn't have reported him over PMs.

lets get something clear here. hstead thought I called him a liar in this thread, a little sensitive or something and decided to send me PMs telling me hes going to track me down and beat my .... etc etc. He sent me like 5 messages saying this and I just kept laughing at him telling him to get off his high horse. I handed it over to the mods and they made the right call. This is a golf forum and this thread is about GG. You want it to stick around, then Id suggest talking about George and instruction

What is better than before on Heath's swing? Can someone provide some analysis that knows his swing? I know he has a swing thread somewhere, but don't remember it.

Easy analysis right here. Pretty dramatic changes in release and pivot

Yeah, yeah...but you are actually a stud athlete and you just don't know it. Didn't you know that Geo's stuff only works with young HS kids and studs? It's not a move for the ordinary guy/gal I tell you!

Of course I don't know the swing like you do, the swallowing, the ball starting more online, and the rotation changes are what I see the big difference. I'm no swing expert so please look and give your thoughts. Would love to hear what others say

I am an average guy and I shot 72 again today. One eagle, 3 birdies, one bogey, 2 doubles. My early extension is completely gone and it makes all the difference.

That's awesome.

Ive seen youve been shooting some good scores, thats pretty good. What kind of scores were you posting before?

Last ten: 84,82,76,81,82,94,90,72,80,72 Before that low, mid 80s and occasional high 70s. Ball striking is really different now and I expect soon to break 70. Today I was really close.

I realize what this thread is about. I was pointing out that your crying to the mods took away one of our best sources of information. Also, I was pointing out the irony of you wanting to see more of his swing after you reported him because you got your feelings hurt.

My last post in this thread. I don't want to derail it. Also, don't pm me, I don't want to get banned.

Anyone else find this drill really helpful from the lesson video Gabe posted? I know he's highly disliked here, but that was some very solid content.

I find that a lot of times I will get the left hip just moving in abduction (knees separating) instead of getting the left kneecap pointing at the target and really getting external rotation. When left knee points at the target in transition, the hips are actually opening, instead of knees just separating. This does a lot of good things for me....creates the left hip lower/lumbar spine tilted towards target/thoracic spine tilted away from target that GG likes, and pulls my chest HARD into impact. It definitely does give a tendency to have the head turn early too, a la Duval, Sorenstam, Stenson, GG, and our boy Heath!

Drew:

The funny thing is how easily it all blends together.

In the past I've felt like I had to learn the swing in pieces.

If you drill that ER move...then drill the follow through...then do stick drills..it all blends together.

He told me as much last time at Westlake. Stick drills establish the bottom, and leg work gets you to that bottom.

After that, it all becomes super easy.

Trying to keep things on the tracks here. and Nice progress Heath & Jurr80.

Jurr80 what drills have you done to solidify your shallowing move?

Flesh that out a little more if you would. Which stick drills helped you establish the bottom? Are there any drills you continue to incorporate to help ingrain your new shallowing move? Nice work!

Which one is the follow through drill?

Stick drill as in alignment stick not hitting your left side?

Shut steep:

The focus has been putting me in a backswing position where my arms don't run past the turn. He has a great program for that. He matches it depending on your grip.

From there, it's all about freezers from the top. Take it to the top and stop. Focus on the leg move getting the lead leg around. For me, I had to focus on keeping wide while doing the lower body move. It eliminates a hit move by leaps and bounds.

Now, you can still have an issue at the bottom of the swing, depending on how open your face is. The stick drill gets you to an 8-4 type swing, but the focus is kicking up the pelvis and throwing from a rotated position.

The two blend together. It's great.

for those who know,, I have had 3 scopes on my left knee so I really can't setup squared and then externally rotate the left knee easily. So is it ok to setup with the left foot about 40 to 45" and then work the leg motions from there..
