Nike Method Origin Putters: The Official Discussion Thread

Anyone know which grip would be closest to the standard method matter grip? I want to replace the grip on the origin with the matter grip but have been unable to find one. Spoke with Nike and the only way to get one is to have a store with an account order one, but most stores won't order a single grip. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Discount Dans should be able to order you one. That's how I got mine.

Can anyone confirm whether the shaft in the non-RORS B2|01 is a .355t or a .370? I haven't got mine in-hand so I can't check for myself.

Β

Going to pop a YSC stepped shaft in there so I'd like to be prepared and have a shim ready should I need it.

Looks like I will be sending my RORS back to Nike on Monday.

Β

What was the reason? How long did it take Nike to process your return?

Mine was never played on a course so they took it back as a 90 day golf unused equipment return. Took about a week to get my money back. They were a little confused at first because they hire idiots as CSRs who had trouble understanding the return policy for golf equipment. Great at returning shoes and apparel, but not equipment it appears.

A little off-topic but does anyone know where we can buy the Method putter grip found on the Rory edition?

I foresee these tanking in value and then in a couple years going back up.

Β

For it to appreciate, there would have to be a demand spike. Why would that happen in the future? Nike tour pros are abandoning the Origin like the Titanic and Rory probably putted the worst in his lifetime with it.

Β

Actually, that statement is false. By the numbers posted in a different thread, Rory actually putted worse with his Scotty than any Method putter. I forgot what thread it was in, but the numbers were there. Surprising, really.

Β

It's a few pages back from the end of the Rory testing a new putter thread in the tour and pre release section. *****

Hi, wondering if anyone can give me some advice.. I am new to golf, been playing for about 3 months.. I have a fairly cheap set of clubs I am using which is fine, but I am going to buy a putter for myself..

Β

I am debating between 4 Nike putters

Β

B2-01 w/ Counterflex

Β

B2-01

Β

S1-12 w/ Counterflex

Β

S1-12

Β

I am looking to buy one of these, well because they will be fairly cheap where I can get them from.. $100 for the B2-01 and $60 for the S1-12, no price difference between Counterflex or non Counterflex, so pricing is not an issue when it comes to that part of it..

Β

Really my main issue needing advice is do I get the Counterflex or non Counterflex grip/sytem? Any comments on both either the plus's or minus's to each? Can the counterflex grip be changed need be? Or does the Counterflex system require a different grip? Any advantage or disadvantage on either?

Β

Thanks in advance

In addition to Willys advice, you will want to know what length of putter feels best as well.

I have the B2-01 in both the 34 and 35 inch... there is definitely a difference in feel when swinging the putters. I really like B2-01 putter however.

Good luck and make sure to get your order in before they are gone! I see that some of their clubs are starting to sell out.

Thanks for the replies, I had went to PGA store and got sized for a 35 inch, so im good with that.. I think I will just order 1 of each and return whichever one I dont want..

Β

As for them selling out, tell me about it... Yesterday I had the Rory edition sitting in my cart for $100, went browsing some other items, took to long, it was removed from my cart and someone bought it and was now sold out..

I have a family member that works for Nike, I can purchase from the Nike employee website.. Currently all the Origin putters are $100, every other putter is $60.
