Just got my Ltd this morning. Putting lights out on my indoor green, might go right in the bag. Always liked Spiders and have had several. Not a huge fan of the insert though. Just doesn't feel great but does anyone know if TM specs out the SS grip differently than retail? Its almost Winn tacky. I've had brand new SS's that felt slick but this is unlike any other. I love it. There is an r in the zero of the 2.0. If I find this exact grip for sale I will buy several

OK just found them on eBay. Its called the legacy series but the listing says its 105 grams? If so maybe its rubber and might explain the tacky feel

Buy one! Just got mine and the weight and feel are fantastic. Highly recommend this putter.

Got mine all red, immediately cut it down to 34" and threw a new golf pride Tour snsr red/black one on it. Have only hit putts on the putting green but so far I like it. Super easy to line up and puts a great roll on it. Can't wait to get a round in with it.

Has anyone tried to see if the weights can be removed? I got mine today and noticed that the weight ports didnt have the normal removable hex style weights in them. I didnt know if anyone has tried to makeshift a tool or know if there is even a tool that is out there to remove them.

Its a "Milled Pure Roll™ insert with a gunmetal finish provides better forward roll,

increased directional accuracy, and improved distance control" so upclose it looks like a metal version of the pure roll inserts, looks alright, sounds good to my ears

hmmmmmmmm, i think youre right. I was looking at mine a bit ago and i can sort of see red peeking out from behind the black piece. I am curious to see if its just a plug, plastic piece or maybe even a removable weight so that one could be added.

Got one the day they came out and did the same thing, have loved putting with it but gave up my 16 Scotty Newport 2.5 for it. For some reason even though I put well with it it's just not a Scotty or high quality milled putter for that matter. Ahhhhhh darn the club hoe in me...

Thanks for the update. I was able to roll the black/red one at a golf store and its a little light for my liking, would like it to be closer to my old Isty, though I added heavier weights to it. With all the customization they offer in clubs, not sure why they short changed this putter.

I'd given up on these arriving in the UK so on the way home from work I bought a Flatso 1.0 to put on my WHP 2-Ball as a back up to my 2016 Scotty Newport......

 

Calls in at the golf range on the way home too and guess what had arrived this afternoon......10 Spider Limited's!!

 

Had a putt with both the black and reds.....I'm not sure whether to go for it or not, they look quite nice but with the non-adjustable weights it seems like a lot of money for a standard mallet, plus they don't seem as smooth to swing as the Scotty X7 I've been eyeing up

TaylorMade's treatment of interchangeable weighting has been puzzling.

 

The 2010 Kia Ma putters and a couple of subsequent years of ghost putters had the small weight screws in aluminum, steel and tungsten. Headweights into the 370-375 gram range could be achieved. Originally the weight kits were very fancy, and close to $100 with 6 each aluminum and tungsten, with the steel weights being standard in the putters. Then TM discontinued the fancy packaging and went with weight kits that had 2 aluminum and 4 tungsten weights, despite some of the putters having six weight sockets. Then the weight kits were discontinued altogether, despite the 2010 Kia Ma putters having the prospect of a decent useful life. The useful life of the ghost series putters was limited due to the fragility of the white paint.

 

Then TM came out with sole weights similar to Scotty for subsequent ghost models, but these also seem to have been short-lived.

 

Now the spiders have plugs that simulate the look of weights, and the other putters have either no weight change option at all, or else a different scheme altogether.

I've been thinking about getting one of these because I love the look, but now I too am afraid it will be too light. I currently game a Ghost Spider with two 16 gram weights and it's about perfect for me. I've been experimenting with putters lately and I can't find one that feels right. Maybe it's because I've been using my Spider over 3 years. For now I'll stick to it I guess and see if anyone figures out a way to add weight without messing with the look of the putter.
