Hey Solo, I'd take that. My 70 would have happened on 15 or 16😁  I've just about given up on anything in the 60's. I've carded four 70 evens but not for over 5 years. Maybe if I ever move up to some senior tees. Still playing right at 6000 but reaching the par 5's in two is not happening very often.

lol...at 76, those par 5 greens in two are still a LONG ways out there !

For my skill level, it seems the shooting your age stays about in the same place.  You

may gain a stroke due to being a year older, but Father Time will take at least that many away !

I was glad that finally after not being able (due to covid) to hold our annual Halloween Spooktacular for two years the kids of BFCC got to really tear it up last night. 

 

There is a tunnel that runs underneath the main floor from one end of the clubhouse to the other. We decorate it as such. Now imagine almost all the lights out except for a couple of small spotlights, spooky sounds being piped in, and a few waiters dressed in scary costumes jumping out at you as you pass thru.   BOO!

Screams galore. 😁 

The BFCC haunted tunnel is pretty cool.

So, the course I played yesterday just opened up from cart path only after reseeding with rye. It was closed for about two weeks during the process and the course looked great.

 

Greens were just starting to be cut lower and we’re rolling nicely on the practice green on Tuesday, so I was looking forward to playing.

 

They’re rolling good, right?

 

 

The first hole had hydraulic fluid back and forth. The guy was using the leak to line up each pass, I guess. OK, we’ll, obviously he’d stop and change mowers or fix the leak, right?

 

Oh no. What was I thinking? They just spent all that time being closed and reseeding.

 

18 pristine greens with hydraulic fluid crisscrossing every green. I’m sure they’ll look great in about 3-4 days when the grass, roots and soil are dead.

 

He must have stopped after nine where the maintenance building is to fill up with more fluid.

 

Apparently I am out of touch with society and people today. It’s a new world.

That's a guy I was fitting into a putter, not me. He's darn good.

That's very true Sol. But I've worked with Hydraulic hoses and fittings for over 40 years and the guy running the greens mower should have noticed hydraulic fluid by the time he got done with one green or maybe two at the most. He must have had a rough night before! 😀

Love those Halloween decorations. Halloween has kind-of been around here too on/off since the 80´s. Actually met my SO at a Halloween party here... But there are mixed emotions here, some consider it an import not in line with our local traditions while others, like me, see it as filling the gap  between the summer holidays and december. We do not celebrate any kind of holidays aug-nov, no thanksgiving or anything. Everything happens in December...

Few decorates their gardens, you will see an odd pumpkin here and there. But we have friends ouside San Francisco that takes these decoration to another level. The lady in the family must spend a week setting it all up. And then for christmas its the same. Christmas outside decorations is a thing here too but pretty low tone.

That was an extreme wide angle camera shot, wasn't it? Those were actually two footers you were sinking.

 

You gotta get some of those SLEDS out on tour. Of the top 100 touring pros find the ones with the worst "strokes gained putting".  They would be the ones most willing to change putters.  When the TV camera is showing the low angle shot of the putter rolling the ball into the hole those rails on the bottom of the SLED will stand out and have the announcers talking!

I like the two teams equally so it doesn't matter to me which orange team wins. I am hopeful for a competitive game and I am looking forward to seeing the wild and nutty costumes in the stands. 

 

 

 

This Browns fan is just stunning, and she reminds me a bit of a young Bo Derek. ⭐

Or like typical people these days did not give a crap

With some supers I know he would not only lost his job but got his butt kicked in the process and probably physically been thrown out of the gate.

When I was the mechanic and equipment manager at the tourist trap Par 3 up the street we had a guy do similar to that with a sand pro. It was the high pressure feed line and he did not stop until the machine stopped. He hosed down like 2 traps and surrounding grass. He was still trying to move the darn thing when the super saw him. We moved it to the shop with the front end loader. He wiped out the pump and the hydrostatic trans on the thing. We ended up junking it. I told the super it was fried as I could smell it. They did have me go get a $65 hose made up and fill with fluid. Nope it did not move again. They bought a new one and I did salvage the new hose and engine and tires off of it. They fired the guy the next day and he could not understand why. He tried to file for unemployement and the Super and I went to the hearing and he got denied. Nowdays he would have gotten unemployment no hearing etc.

Heck fire according to clubhouse talk this afternoon a local high school team St James could beat either one of those teams. It was also stated that St James could beat CCU. I dont know I just laughed along with about everyone else

Ok let's try this again.

 

 

Here is how our Rad played one very difficult hole particularly well last Monday. 

#10 at Reems Creek is the number two handicap hole on the course. 415 yard par 4. The hole is a downhill off the tee and then plays steeply uphill to the green. While standing on the tee box I explain to Bama Boy how the ideal drive would be a cut around the big tree on the right side and that would set your shot down in a valley between two fairway bunkers. He did just that. Fine execution. The second shot Rad faced (photo one) called for an uphill 170 yard approach shot to a skinny triple tiered green from back to front. It narrows greatly the second part of this hole and the trees make it a mighty tight approach shot to a green with nothing but junk around it.  Rad and I discussed club choices for him. He settled on his 4 hybrid. He made a smooth pass and it rose into the sky with a baby cut. I shouted I like it. From way down in the fairway I saw his shot land on what I had figured was the front collar. Nice shot I told my new golf buddy. When we drove up to the green Rad had indeed stuck it close. He didn't know it but cameraman Lawrence was ready. Sure enough he drained the birdie putt. Just outstanding play on one of the toughest holes at Reems Creek. It was impressive. a little yippy push with my trail hand that I don't notice when I'm doing it.  It's not easy to grow old gracefully
