🤣 gotta drop that wisdom the younguns.

Ya, I never ran track but remember he was da 💣

And now I’m gettin more into these sprint intervals, doin 10 x 200, prolly at 80% effort (don’t wanna injure myself lol) but the crescendo of being completely winded and gasping for breath builds up as I progress to the last rep.

Good work blade! There ya go. Live a little! Nothing like the wind in your ears and hitting the stride. Then, I’m so relaxed even the morons I have to sometimes deal with for work don’t phase me at all 🤣🍻

Here’s a great lesson from him , in case yo get into some 40 yard dash contests in the park !!  You need to know how to drive off. 🤣

🤣 that’s dope blade but I’m many years from even attempting to bust out of the blocks and go full til on a sprint

Prolly blow out my quads hammys and groin all at once 😳

No, I start each sprint by…a slow jog for a few steps then build up speed,

At my age I gotta keep all my instrument gauges running well below redline ; )

I’m all the way down the rabbit hole now. I had no idea Johnson had a performance center. His examination of Bolt and dissection of his form is a good watch.  He points out how Bolt could have been much faster.  And not with some crap opinion take. It’s obvious if examine it. He was that fast and was woefully ineffective/inefficient for   the first 20 meters of a 100.  It’s crazy how much he drives laterally instead of towards the target.  That guys raw talent will probably never be matched.

1st hole was a short 378 yard straightaway hole. i hit stock driver to right center of fairway and 9-iron to elevated, fast green about 15 feet left of pin. two putts.

2nd hole was 177 par 3. hit…

Exactly!  Not meaning to be rude, but does anybody really read these things?  Worse than watching paint dry, IMHO.

oh, you’re not wrong.

a little rude maybe, but… 🙂 (just kidding)

real golfers never say anything but their score if someone asks how they did. if they say anything else, i think there’s a rule somewhere that you can walk away.

Ha! Reminds me of our 3rd baseman, he’d run the bases basically sideways windmilling his arms all over, total spectacle 🤣

One time in practice, he was messing around not paying attention and a ball got hit right at him!

We yelled his name to warn him!

He covered his nuts 🌰 and the ball hit him in the mouth and knocked his front teeth  out 😳. Tough kid, he was back at 3rd base in short order!

I know that there's something wrong with me because to me that's hysterical.

after 5 days of southern hospitality and smiling, friendly workers in restaurants, stores, everywhere, i’m back in my current reality. after some flight delays (with no one whining or making a scene in nashville, finally got home at 1 am.

went to the supermarket early for some things with a good mood and smiling disposition.

i’m doing the self checkout, and a bar code was messed up. i asked  the lady if she could help me. she scowls and says just use the bar code!

i said that i would but it isn’t working.

just scan it! was the reply. she was too busy talking to some other woman about her daughter and stuff.

that did it. i said if it worked i wouldn’t be asking for your help. she waddles over and i said that the proper response should be “what can i help you with, sir?”

she glare at me.

i said that we should practice. repeat after me.

”what can i help you with, sir?”

to her credit, she said it and realized she was being a jerk.

all part of my new campaign to instill some manners in some people.

I’ve lived in Nashvegas for 5 years. Are you saying, based on that, I should reconsider snowbirding in Scottsdale?  😀.   Maybe Naples, FL?  That’s the South too.

Back to very early morning golf for you.

other than the weather, it depends.

you have good weather in the good column, and i suppose good shopping, cycling and hiking, if those are your interests.

in the other column, you have congested traffic in season (#1 in road rage in the country), $200-$300 greens fees, limited outstanding restaurants - no one ranks phoenix metro high in culinary delights, but mostly overpriced chains.

south from scottsdale into phoenix has only one small classy area, the rest is a dump. south and west of phoenix are horrific, endless fast food and shopping malls. the canadians head there because it's cheaper and their dollar doesn't go very far anymore.

We’ve visited there every Feb for a week or so for maybe 7-8 years. I like it much more than Palm Springs, plus prefer AZ tax structures over CA ( Not to mention CA often tries to change your residency and tax all income).

I like the desert, esp in early morning or late evening. We like to hike and cycle. I ride dirt bikes up by Wickenburg. And I’ve loved many of the restaurants we’ve been to.

PS. Could care less about shopping. Mrs DT, on the other hand…..

the farther north, the better it is. i wouldn't live south of scottsdale, but that's just me.

my time in nashville was no farther east than bellvue. spent enough time in city life overseas.

That was like in my local Home Depot a few years back. I had went in there to get some support brackets to help me reflooring our house. I think I had about 20 or so and they were like $4 each. I got to the checkout and the lady said they had no bar codes. I asked are they not in your book like bolts and nuts are? She informed me they were not in the book that I would have to go back and find one with the bar code. By then I had like 4 people behind me. I told her basically it was not my blank blank job I did not work there. I left the stuff sitting on the counter and went to Lowes up the road a few miles. Of course the same brackets had bar codes on them. No problem at all in checkout there. I did not go to that Home Depot for like 3 years.

problem with nashville metro is it's too hot, too!

i need my own metro area. 80’s in the summer and some days of 50’s in the winter.

soloman city

fresh farm vegetables and meat nearby.

drinkable water.

trees and lakes.

three or four $1,200 per year perfect golf courses.

affable, positive people.

have to pass my interview to buy land, build or buy. 😉

I bought a toilet seat at Home Depot

I go to put it on the 🚽 and there’s screws missing

I call and they said I can come back and return it

I got the manager on the phone and said you’re having someone drive to my place with a new one

He he said, “we can’t do that”

I told him that if he didn’t I’d call the CEOs office and Head of Corporate Communications.

2 hours later they brought me my toilet seat 🤣

OK I am going to put this out there up front. Hope I do not offend. I have been in the Grille darn near since the beginning. I was in the old confessions thread when there was some riff occurring. I will not get into the details here. Reasy and I think @Conrad1953 started this thread. I know Rad shot me a PM and invited me over. I spent some time in the old confessions thread but most of my WRX time was in the Classics section and In the Equipment Section in the blade users section. In here it has always been talk about what you want to as long as it is within the parameters set by WRX staff.

For example- I have no interest in other Stick and Ball sports. But if someone wants to post about that or about the games so be it. Golf instruction or theories I have no interest in either. If someone here posts something I am not interested in no harm no foul as far as I am concerned. I just skim right through it and maybe give it a glance and move on. Like I said that is my honest take on things hope I do not offend in any way

No offense taken, or given hopefully.  Just my own opinion.  Apparently a lot of guys enjoy reading and writing those kinds of posts.  Personally, I just don't get it.
