I love my mini 1.5. Both of them, in fact. So much so, I just found and grabbed a third, for my travel bag.

 

All 12*. Two w the same shaft, one w a Tour Green.

 

I may never need another 3w for as long as I live.

Weight is about the same but Kuro Kage is labeled as medium to low launch/low spin.

I hated the stock shafts to light/whippy. Had di7x and Fuji 757x. DI for more carry fuji for lower flight and more roll. Sold the shafts kept the head.

I found the Speeder 565 a much better (read straighter and longer) shaft than the KK (which also felt harsher and sounded different). If I had not known how the speeder felt and performed, I would never have bought the club w a KK shaft.

I really wish they would have went 43" on the length with these.

I play it at 43". 70 gram shaft and about 5 grams of lead tape to get it to D1.5

Best fairway wood I've ever had.

And if the Driver is playing up, its the perfect back up.

Nothing "Mini" about this one - Very impressive!

I have turned my mini to 15° and it's a helpful club for me on the local track. I love it off the deck.

I like it enough to play it in my driver also.

Haven't tried the speeder but has been tempting being the KK in 12* is rarer than hens teeth at the moment (especiall in Aus).

I'm playing mine as a three wood at the moment 15°. It's working well enough for me. The 13° setting is just so difficult to use off the deck. Kinda useless in how it takes up space in the bag.

Yeah I have found it difficult off the deck at times and then others has been a dream. Doesn't matter what *.

 

I love using it out of a fluffy rough lie (ie sitting up like on a tee) and just getting through it.

 

Off the fairway I try to pick it off the deck with getting it at the low point of the swing and not on the up or the down if that makes sense? More clipping it off the fairway as opposed to divot or topping it. Took time and practice even now I still struggle.

 

75% of the time it works, the other 25% I am usually trying to punish it or too tense\swinging too hard. As I carry a 3w as well I tend to only use it out of the rough lie and 3w out of the FW.

I have had tremendous success w the 13* off the deck. Keep it low, runs well, gets out there a ways. Even off the tee, I can keep the 13* down if I don't tee the ball up (just off the grass w the tee, like an iron).

 

I have seen a number of 12* heads pop up for sale on BST forums recently, but you gotta jump on them. They do not last long. Also, CPO had one or two recently.

Have the 14 degree w/KK "R". If driver is acting up, which it can quite often, I set the Mini on 13 or 14 degrees and use it off the tee. Extremely long for me and usually in play. If the driver is allowed to get a reprieve from "time out", the Mini goes to 16 degree and becomes my 3-wood. I have the Big Bertha 3 wood and 5 wood. If the Mini is subbing for my driver, the Bertha 3 set at 17 degrees goes in the bag. If the driver is in the bag and the Mini set at 16 degrees, the Bertha 3 wood gets relegated to the basement.

The Mini 1.5 was probably my best purchase of 2016.

Trouble in paradise!! After having great success with the Mini for months, it all fell apart yesterday. I hit two out of 10 fairways with it -one of those because it bounced back in bounds off a tree- two OB and one in the water.

I'm worried now that I will lose the confidence that I had with it.

Chopped off .5" and installed cheap grip in case more needs to come off.

This thing has turned into a total hook machine for me and can't quite figure out why. I hit my 16.5* 4 wood G25 so good but I am having a heck of a time being consistent with the Bertha a 13*.

I started with alot of low hooks but they turned into alot of draws.....Maybe the shaft loosened up???

Man, I don't know.. I guess that is a possibility... most likely user error though. I'll throw the old TM R7 back in the bag until I figure it out.

I, and a couple of others who have a mini now, with the KK Shaft found when we really tried to chase the shot that it would hook like hell. If we just swung and let the club do all the work it was fine. If I tried to power it or steer it, it would hook.

 

This might be what is happening. Now that you have settled into it you might be trying to steer the shot rather than stand and just swing?

I've got the 12* with the KK 60x, it's a nice club but it's too long to be a 3 wood. Its basically Driver long, so I ended up just putting the shaft in my driver in place of the Speeder that came in it. I'm gonna look for an actual 3 wood shaft for the Mini, something heavy, 70/80 grams so I can try it at 14* And 3 wood length. I see it being a strong club once I get it set up properly with the right shaft.

If you want a shaft to chase it with or really try with some ooomf so to speak have a look at the Project X LZ 6.0 at the same length.

 

I have it as my second shaft when I have a wide open course and can or want to be a bit more aggressive. I can chase it a bit more and get loose with it and still responds (although when I get ahead of myself, a bad swing is a bad swing and will never work lol).

I put my Mini 1.5 head on an aldila Trinity F-75s shaft at 42.5" today. It couldn't displace my Driver so I'm gonna try it out as a legit 3 wood at 14* instead :)

Really curious about this option now, mostly because my fairway strikes are getting WAY more consistent than my driver strike....

 

And that prompts this question for the forum:
