Why doesn't anyone make skinny golf pants?

So, growing up in the punk/hipster scene, skinny jeans are a real thing. Hell, they're becoming very popular and mainstream in every culture now. I remember 12-13 years ago in high school, I wanted to wear tight pants like I saw in all the skateboarding videos. But back then, nobody made skinny jeans for men. So I resorted into wearing women's pants (I was tiny in high school. 120 pounds, 28 waist in mens).

 

Then around 5-6 years ago, skinny jeans and pants really took off in the fashion world. Doesn't matter if you were punk, ivy league prep, blue collar, white collar. All walks of life were wearing slimmer jeans. The days of JNCO and Lee Pipes were over. For the most part, the days of boot cut jeans were even over.

 

So this leads me to my question, why hasn't the golf world caught up? Where are a single pair of skinny/slim golf pants? And no, I have no interest in the new joggers that McIlroy and Fowler are wearing. Something like these:

 

 

But made with the typical material used in golf attire. As a very short man, standing a full 5'4" tall, I can't buy a single pair of golf pants without looking like this:

 

 

I guess I could always just shop in the women's section like I did back in high school...but it's just hard to think that it's nearly 2017, and not a single golf company has ventured into this market.

I think there are a few. Maide (Bonobos) makes them. I have a pair of Linksoul pants that are cut pretty slim. Adidas makes a tapered fit. I think Nike has a skinnier cut. The Puma five pockets pants that Rickie wears look pretty slim/skinny. You could also go non golf brand like Lululemon or Nike SB.

Maide. In my opinion they make the best golf pant, and they have a variety of cuts. That lock feature alone of the button sets them apart.

You know what they say. "don't wear skinny jeans if you don't have skinny genes."

 

Adidas Ultimate Tapered fit are nice, as are Nike Modern Washed.

 

Everything I've ever seen from Maide (Bonobos) have been very tailored, flattering fits.

The Maide Highland in their Tailored fit are going to fit exactly like that in the picture. I can't fit in those though and use their Slim fit.

All of Nike modern/slim fit will work. I am about the same size of an LPGA player, and have the legs to match, wear Nike pants only.

I'd say 90% of the time when companies advertise their pants as "slim" or "tailored", they still end up being super baggy on me.

 

Not golf, but I got these J Crew pants a while back. They were the skinniest/slimmest option they offered. That's the model on their website, vs how they fit me.

 

 

Now, I don't need skin tight here, but something that would actually work as slim/skinny would be awesome. I've tried the Bonobos...doesn't work. Nike and Puma's don't even come close.

 

I'll have to checkout that Fairway Styles brand that posted in here. Looking for something that fits closer to this.

Speaking as a guy with a 32 two inch waist but needing to go with 34 or 36 trousers to get my quads in there I sincerely hope that golf manufacturers don't stick with what they have got!

 

In all seriousness have you tried J. Lindeberg. They have a range of trousers that are called tight! One of my friends who looks like a similar build to yourself bought a pair and there isn't much extra fabric to play with or that's what it looks like anyway.

Get some pants then take them to a tailor.

$15-20 max to get legs taken in at the tailor. I hate to ruin your day but models on websites aren't wearing off the rack pants.

Express makes slim fit pants and chino's in a similar material to golf pants.

I'm the opposite, I struggle to find regular fitting clothes , everything is so fitted these days . I always have to buy a size bigger even that they don't fit right .

That's true, I do have a lot of JL polos, never thought about the pants though. Might have to find a dealer and try some on.

Find yourself a good tailor, take every pair of pants you own that you think don't fit the way you want and they'll taper them to your liking. I wear 32/32 pants. But have to get relaxed with on basically everything because my thighs are bigger from years of lifting weights. I take my pants to a tailor and they taper them perfect. For 4 pairs of pants it would probably cost you $40-50. Well worth it to me.

Yeah - J. Lindeberg's regular pants are slim on me so their "slim" pants are probably like biker shorts. I can't wear them because they seem to be cut high in the crotch and squeeze the boys a little too much.

Ahh I'm the same as you.. hard to find dress pants/golf pants that look good. Always nice at the thighs and baggy at the bottom. Not the easiest thing to tailor too apparently.

I believe the tailored fit is relatively new in the Highland pants; perhaps they didn't have it when you tried them?

Yeah, I don't believe I tried on the tailored model, probably just the slim. But the slim is still pretty baggy on me.

 

I noticed the Tailored version, as well as the Adidas Tapered pants, have 14" leg openings. My favorite pair of jeans have 13" openings...so that's not too far off. Hopefully I can find some place that carries either version so I can try them on! Might check out Golfsmith and PGA Super Store tonight.

Got these Gap pants in, and they're great. Very comfortable. Not golf pants specifically, but they do the trick.

 

 

Even with a 30 inseam (shortest they offer), I had to roll them 3 times. My legs are ridiculously short.
