Why doesn't anyone make skinny golf pants?

Oh I'm plenty chubby. But the 5'4" with like a 27-28" inseam is what kills it. No amount of girth can fix pants that look too baggy due to short legs.

I just picked up 3 pair of the Nike Modern Washed pants - they're pretty form fitting and definitely tapered. May wanna grab a pair ($45 on eBay).

get them tailored, its your only chance of being satified. anything off the rack won't measure up. get it.......?

Got these Gap pants in, and they're great. Very comfortable. Not golf pants specifically, but they do the trick.

 

 

Even with a 30 inseam (shortest they offer), I had to roll them 3 times. My legs are ridiculously short.

 

that's hole at Arrowhead is pretty fun. Always a challenge to get the right club.

Adidas are notorious for being very slim and almost skinny. Hell my brother who's stick skinny fills them out.

Gotta go the tailored route. We husky fellas don't have many options in that world. If you go tight in the leg they have to be stretchy too or it's an uncomfortable 5 hours. Or maybe find some Capri pants that are made for real tall guys. [kidding].

I'd say 90% of the time when companies advertise their pants as "slim" or "tailored", they still end up being super baggy on me.

 

Not golf, but I got these J Crew pants a while back. They were the skinniest/slimmest option they offered. That's the model on their website, vs how they fit me.

 

 

Now, I don't need skin tight here, but something that would actually work as slim/skinny would be awesome. I've tried the Bonobos...doesn't work. Nike and Puma's don't even come close.

 

I'll have to checkout that Fairway Styles brand that posted in here. Looking for something that fits closer to this.

nike "modern fit" isn't small enough? my proportions are generally considered "skinny" even though at 200lbs i'd hardly consider myself that way (44'' jacket, 34/34 pants, wear david donahue "slim fit" dress shirts), but those are too tight for me especially around the quads. the modern fit shorts ride up so much i can't wear them.

 

i think you're going to have to look at euro brands.

I also have some IZOD slim fit pants, but they are definitely much baggier than my Nikes. They are still nice pants but much more "regular" fitting than the Nikes.

You definitely need to get some J Lindbergs. I'm a 33 waist and about 6"3 and love the fit of their golf trousers. They're more slim fitting without being tight or restrictive.

I'm telling you man. Find some pants that fit you well around the waist and are comfortable around your thighs. Take them to a tailor to get them to taper how you want them. That's the only way you'll ever be satisfied. I'm 6'0 185 and wear 32/32. But I have been lifting for about 4 years and my thighs don't fit comfortably in non relaxed fit pants. So I buy relaxed fit everything and have them tapered down to a 15 inch opening. That's perfect for me.

Agree, you're only going to be happy with the fit if you go to a tailor. I'm 5'7'' 155, and grab 32/30 pants and just take them to my tailor to get the inseam correct and a taper.

Good info guys! My thighs are never a problem, they fit very well in the corresponding waist size. My issue is specifically the ankle opening. From the knee down it's never tapered enough.

 

And I've just learned to roll. Every single pair of pants, every long sleeve shirt, every hoodie, every sweater....everything gets rolled and cuffed. My current outfit today:

 

 

I did get a pair of The Highland pants from Maide/Bonobos. They seem to fit pretty well, although I have to exchange for one size larger. The 32's were a little too snug under my gut. But their length only required 1 roll, and they seemed slim enough to make me happy.

 

I wish a local shop carried the Adidas Ultimate Tapered pants for me to try on. I don't really feel like spending $80+ shipping to simply try them on.

Check out the Uniqlo dry ex stuff. I also think even slim fit golf stuff is too huge, and I found the Uniqlo to be a bit too slim. Also they are affordable and have sales alll the time. And they offer free in house tailoring for the length! Surprised no one mentioned it yet

Go-Dry Slim Performance Pants for Men from Old Navy might be worth a look. For a non-golf brand, I would have recommended the Gap Performance Khaki, but, they were dis-continued:(

I completely agree. Uniqlo Dry-Ex pants are perfect for golf. Slim fit (I wear skinny/slim denim and chinos for work) and technical/breathable fabric. They are what Adam Scott wears. I think regular price is $40-50 but they go on sale pretty regularly. They aren't available now since they are seasonal, but look for them around Feb/Mar...

 

I can't remember if they have inseam options or if everything is 34 inseam or not. Obviously, getting pants hemmed at a tailor/dry cleaner is usually <$10.

 

BTW, Uniqlo Dry-Ex polo shirts are also great for golf. They are slim fit and up there with anything else in terms of the technical fabric...
