Bubba's weight loss

Yeah I am 5'10" and 155 lbs. People ask me if I feel OK all the time, as if I'm dying. I'm just a thin person. I have very thin arms and wrists like Bubba which for some reason people equate with ill health. I'm sure Bubba is fine and probably feels a lot better for eating more healthy. He certainly isn't "sickly", unless you consider overweight to be normal.

 

As for why his play has tailed off, tough to say. He always seemed very shaky on the greens to me, his putting stroke seems very stiff and upright. Have not checked his stats but has his putting gotten worse?

Maybe Bubba can join the group of weight losers that also lost their game with the weight. Casper, Stadler, Calc, Lumpy. Of course they were all fatties where Bubba never was. Can't think of any golfers that lost significant amounts of weight who had their game improve. Maybe Nicklaus (fat jack) who knocked off some weight in the mid to late 70s and won 4 more majors when they were saying the bear was dead..

This is it. Stop eating sugar and you will drop weight like crazy. And very very quickly.

 

Yep. If you stop eating sugar your body will burn up all your excess fat. For many, the fat lost in one's face causes a drawn look that makes everyone think you are sick. I started restricting sugar and highly processed carbs a couple years ago, and it was the best thing I've ever done. I got lean, have way more energy and feel fantastic.

Careful with the "Fat Jack" stuff around these parts. There will be more than a few blue hairs around here shortly that will tell you he hit a feathery a quarter mile with no roll with a warped 2x4 while ripping a heater and eating three Golden Bearclaws.

People don't realize that losing a lot of weight is also accompanied with losing some muscle. If you're cutting to lose fat you lose some muscle along the way.

Losing weight must be done with proper diet and exercise (strength training). If you just cut a bunch of calories and starve yourself you'll end up like Bubba.

Don't underestimate some of the fat guys. There's a lot of muscle underneath those layers of fat. :D

He has lost distance, I saw a stat that showed he lost an average of5 yards each of the last 2 years. Brought his average to 305, I could be wrong though.

You must be thinking of THP'ers. Most WRX'ers hit their 3 woods at least 300 yards carry with either a power fade (savage slice), baby draw (duck hook) or a towering bomb (sky ball).

but he says he altered his eating habits for health reasons. He is down to about 172 pounds after weighing closer to 190 near the end of 2016. What did he cut out of his diet? “Oh, everything that tastes good,” he said. “Actually, I’m eating small meals more times. I threw in fish for the first time, a lot of chicken. Normally I don’t like eating on the golf course, but we made these little protein balls. “No chips. I haven’t had a chip probably in three or four months. So it’s just things like that. That just sounds miserable. You gotta treat yourself a little

You may not have noticed, but he's a basketcase between the ears. No telling what made him decide to lose weight instead of working out and getting rid of those muppet arms.

Negative affects of losing weight on the golf game sounds like BS excuses to me.

It's not that big a deal.
