10yr wedding anniversary ideas

So between working 65hrs/wk and being a man of little creativity I'm reaching out to you for ideas for our 10yr wedding anniversary in Sept. I'm a procrastinator so I'm forcing myself to jump on this so I'll have plenty of time to work on whatever I can come up with..I need some fun ideas to work with...can't do a long trip.....maybe a weekend possibly here in NC somewhere...she doesn't wear a lot of jewelry so that's probably not a good idea...anyone have any thoughts that you have done or seen yourself? Need help... :bb:

Take her to either Charleston for the weekend or head up to the mountains (Ashville...etc). Have a nice dinner set up and pay a lot of attention to her. Make the weekend all about her and the fact that you adore her and she deserves it. It really does not take much. She will love it.

Agree, the important thing is time together, and not buying some 'thing' instead that's for sure. My wife and I will have our 44th anniversary this year, still on our honeymoon, looking back our most memorable anniversaries are times spent together doing something we both wanted to do. My advice would be to make the choice together. BTW, that's 3 times I've used the word together. So I would reach out to her for ideas, she will be able to come up with something more meaningful than us.... just sayin'

Well, I don't mean to THAT guy but she has put up with you're 65 hr/ wk work schedule. Maybe it's time you take the time to be with your wife. Take a trip. Not just a trip, but a good one.

 

I have a similar deal. Every few years we go on a wing ding to some silly place and see the sights. Because work is less important than my wife.

since your a man with no creativity get 10 pictures of you and her together and put a different one in the frame 11 days before your anniversary (before she gets up) on your anniversary put a picture of where you are taking her as she deserves a good trip putting up with your 65hr work weeks.

Diamonds are definitely in order if you go by the modern theme for gifts by years married. I also like hammy83's idea with the picture frame and changing photos everyday with your travel destination at the end.

 

A nice romantic weekend at a country inn with a special, candlelight dinner and an appropriate gift -- you know that she will have something for you -- will do just the trick. Perhaps incorporate some spa time, whatever it is do it together and turn off the phone so work doesn't call!

Vegas. Wynn Parlor Suite or Aria Sky Suites. Spa for her(golf for you), swimming by day, dining and dancing by night. See a show, Cirque du Soleil, etc. Sleep. Repeat. Hiking Valley of Fire day trip or day trip to Zion National Park. Or Grand Canyon West Rim is only 2 hours away.

For a gift, my wife wanted to upgrade her wedding band and the setting for her diamond ring. So we did that. She then surprised me with a full bag fitting and the opportunity to buy the clubs.

 

Together, we went out to eat and spent time together--away from the kids.

 

My wife is pretty chill and low key, so hanging out at our favorite restaurant and then getting cocktails was perfect. She doesn't like big showy acts of love on milestones. She said long agai, that small acts, and every day gestures mean more to her. YMMV.

30th for us this year. We're grabbing cash and heading up the Western MI coast with NO firm plans and NO hotel reservations.

 

Will be an adventure, no doubt. She's awesome.

10th for me this October. We're driving down from Michigan to spend two nights in Asheville and two nights in Kiawah Island. I told her Hawaii has to wait until our son is in high school :)

 

Not sure what I will do gift-wise yet.

My wife and I went to Williamsburg, VA for our 10th. Did some of the touristy stuff, but most importantly, got to play golf a few days. She played one day with me, but she happily went to the outlets for some shopping the other!
