Random question:

 

I live about 10 mins from the course. Would I be able to just show up and buy tickets on Sat or Sun? If so.. How much would they run me? I have a huge crush on Lexi and her game, I'd love to see her in person.

 

Buying "grounds only" tickets at the gate is no problem. Sadly, attendance at LPGA events can be rather sparse. I believe gallery tickets for the weekend are $50.

Awesome. If I went on Saturday... What time,, and where would I go to try and get an autograph or pic with Lexi? Is it even possible? I know she's there to play but who knows when the LPGA will be back in my area.

 

I'm an early bird, so I get to the gate before they open. Given that it will be the weekend, the tee times are based on the players' standing on the leaderboard. As such, you won't know what time Lexi will be teeing off. The tee times for each day are published the night before. Check the official tournament website, or arrive early. They'll generally have the tee times available with the day's program.

 

Most players hit the putting green or range an hour to an hour and a half before their tee time. You can hang out around either place in hope of catching them before they start practicing. You have to have a keen eye, as they slip in pretty fast sometimes. Once they start their practice, they generally don't want to be disturbed. You might be able to catch her as she travels between the green and range.

 

The other option is to hang out near the scoring tent/trailer after her round. Lexi is very good about signing autographs after her round. Of course, if she wins, good luck fighting the crowds.

Every time i tune into the LPGA i notice a few more players with PXG. There seems to be a lot more playing the clubs than are featured on the website, would be curious to know what the sponsorship deals are like.

Probably late and apologize if it was covered elsewhere, but was watching yesterday's coverage on DVR and they mentioned Michelle Wie was carrying a driver, 3W, 5W, 7W, 9W, and 11W. Never heard of a pro doing that before!

Michelle generally plays 5-PW, but I see only 4 irons in her bag this week. I guess it's possible, especially given that she was dealing (unsuccessfully) with a shoulder injury. 'Probably felt that it was easier to hit from the rough with a wood.

Yes, she withdrew due to injury. She struggled to complete her round yesterday due to a bad shoulder, and it didn't get better overnight.

She'll bounce back. Again. She has suffered through numerous injuries over the past few years, and always gets back on her feet.

Sorry it's mega short, but as you know, you can't really take your phone out when they are on the tee box. But she literally jumped in the air and landed like 3 inches behind her starting position. She was out driving Rachel Heck by 30 to 40 yards most of the day. She didn't have a wonderful round or tourney, but it was really fun to watch her and the other girls do their thing. She was even nice enough to sign my tee time pamphlet.

Yeah, Lexi definitely has a one of a kind swing. You see her technique in the long drive competitions. I followed her for 3 holes at the KPMG, along with Lydia and Inbee, and she was easily 50 yards ahead of them on each hole. 'Crazy how long she hits her drives.

 

I was near the scoring tent at the Volvik when her group finished their rounds, and after signing her card she spent quite a bit of time meeting the fans and signing autographs. She's great with her fans.
