Lodging Recommendations-Ludington, Manistee, Arcadia MI

Wondering if there is any nice places to stay in the area of Arcadia Bluffs, MI? I've looked at the lodge right on the golf course, but it is probably $100 a night more than I care to spend. It will be for my wife and I and she doesn't golf. All I can really find or the normal chain motels, like Best Western, etc. Would consider a nice B&B or nice hotel, but are not really interested in driving all the way up to Traverse City.

Several of the usual chains are in Manistee. But I would recommend the Little River Casino Resort. Very nice lodging and the overall quality of the facility is excellent. We stay there all the time when in the area. An easy 15 minute drive north on M-22 to AB. Several very good restaurants on site. Plus, can do some wagering in the evening if so inclined. No decent dining in downtown Manistee IMO.

Edit add: Anything else you would like to know about that area, please ask. Well worth taking the time to drive north from AB and visit Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Very scenic.

I think the view at sunset from the adirondack chairs makes it all worth it even if she isn't a golfer. If not and you want the economy price than the casino is a great recommendation.

2nd this. Arcadia accommodations are tough to beat and worth the investment.

 

...unless you feel like getting swashbuckled at the casino...which is what we usually do lol.

If it were just $205, I would be all over it. We are looking at summertime, so the rate is $330, double occ!!!!!!!!!

Check The Hotel Frankfort. Decent on property bar. Ok food. Under 5 minute walk to beach, sunsets, lighthouse, whatever your into.

1 minute from Hotel entrance to a barstool at Stormcloud Brewing. For upscale dining, Coho, right across and just down the street.

Or, get a carry out bag of fresh fried Whitefish or Walleye from Port City Smokehouse, and eat dinner from a bag while watching the sunset. Depending on dates, could hit your price point. Close enough to AB.

Try the Crystal Mountain Ski Resort. About 30 minutes away but this is where I stayed and it's really nice. They have a spa, couple of restaurants, and plenty of activities including golf there too. I think when we go back we are just going to stay at Arcadia though because it's just so beautiful. You really can't beat the view.

The cottages above the 2nd green and 3rd tee look pretty nice. I think they have their own putting green.

Can confirm this....we actually forgot that we left a case of Bud Light in the fridge after we checked out. Luckily, I had accidentally left the back door open so we had plenty to last us.

 

My only complaint is the lack of food prep options. Would be awesome to grill out there, but all it comes with is a microwave, coffee machine and fridge.

Also, I would add that the absolute best play to stay if you have a group of 8 or more is the Barn Cottage on little bear lake. So good....included a pontoon for an evening boat cruise should the need arise.
